Not a Yankee's fan, but I would love to see A-Rod return to form and just destroy teams.
Also I would love for him to get rid of the hamburger helper gloves, they just look ridiculous. |

That's kind of how I felt about Clint Hurdle. I guess I never really saw enough of Tracy to get attached to him, but Rocktober endeared Hurdle to me forever.

Clint's a good dude, but I always thought it was time for him to go when he did since the clubhouse had apparently started to turn on him. Listening to all the Rockies(specifically Tulo and Cargo) talk about Jim Tracy makes it seem like they love him and wanted him to stay though. It's like they just saw their dad get fired, even though he quit.

I wanted Hurdle to manage the Mets instead of Terry Collins. I ended up liking Collins a lot more than I thought I would, though. He's familiar with the upcoming minor league talent. It sounds like the players get pissed off at him when he's snapped and finally accused them of quitting the last two seasons, but watching them fade away after the All Star Break I can't say I blame him for thinking that way.

Yeah I figured it was time Clint left when he did, but I still hated to see him leave. I kept hoping they would recapture what they had in 07, but they couldn't with him.

Diamondbacks hire former manager Bob Brenly as TV analyst PHOENIX — Former Arizona manager Bob Brenly rejoined the Diamondbacks as a television analyst Thursday, a day after he left the Chicago Cubs’ broadcast crew. The Diamondbacks also hired Steve Berthiaume to handle play-by-play duties on Fox Sports Arizona. They replaced analyst Mark Grace and play-by-play broadcaster Daron Sutton. Grace left voluntarily in August after his second drunken driving arrest in 15 months. Sutton was suspended on June 30 for unspecified “philosophical differences.” The 58-year-old Brenly led Arizona to the 2001 World Series title. He was a broadcaster with the team from 1998-2000 and the manager from 2001-04. He spent the last eight seasons as a Cubs broadcaster. Berthiaume is leaving ESPN, where he was a “Baseball Tonight” and “SportsCenter” host. Greg Schulte is returning to his radio position after finishing the season on TV in place of Sutton. |

Having Brenly back is very welcome, even though I enjoyed him and Len Kasper calling Cubs games immensely.

Red Sox and Blue Jays currently in negotiations over John Farell but already teasing if Jays ask for too much or stall, Brad Ausmus from the Padres very likely is their new manager within the next 2-3 weeks.

I'm thinking Boston sends Bard to Toronto to get Farrell back. Just a theory I read.
Yankees plan on exercising Curtis Granderson's option. No surprise. Japanese hot shot Shohei Otani is expected to make his announcement on October 22nd to decide if he stays in Japan or comes to the U.S. to play baseball. |

Giants fans are such Internet nerds. Memes already created about Zito, twitter blowing up, all that shit. Can't wait til STL ends it IN SF.

The Cardinals are legit. Even with the last 2 being in SF I can't see them pulling a Reds and dropping 3 in a row.
Would rather see the Giants win though. Tigers/Giants would be a fresh World Series matchup. If it's Tigers/Cardinals I'd probably have to put money on the Cards since they seem to have a horseshoe up their ass. |

A guy called into WFAN saying the Mets should go after Swisher this off-season. I hope not. That guy is so damn annoying.
Plus the Yankees just made him a $13.3 million qualifying offer (qualifying offer replaces Type A/Type B free agents now)...so if Swisher declined the Yanks' offer and then went to Queens, the Mets would need to give up the 11th overall pick in the draft. Fuck that. |

Come to think...Swisher should probably just accept the Yanks' offer. I know he might want a multi-year deal, but there is no way he'll get $13.3 million a year from any other team.

Probably only going to get pitching considering the lack of any real quality bats that didn't get called up (no to Ciriaco, Iglesias, or Gomez).
Be lucky to get Bard and maybe one of the former Dodgers prospects but not Ivan De Jesus or Rubby De La Rosa since the team has plans for them next year. I've heard some speculation of Doubront being included but the Red Sox would have to be morons to get rid of him after his great rookie season. |

I wish the Giants wouldn't put themselves in these bleak situations all the time. All of San Francisco is on the brink of a fucking heart attack. It can be done, as demonstrated last series, but Jesus

Fantastic. CY was one of my favorites, I can't stand Pennington, and Heath Bell better be a 6th/7th inning guy and not get in the way of Hernandez, another favorite, neither.
I'm becoming a bigger A's fan with each passing day. |
