Heh, now that I'm thinking about it, I realized that I'm a little hypocritical for getting all up-in-arms about Wonder Woman's new costume. Yes, it looks retarded, and it takes away all of her 'iconic' image so now she looks completely out of place standing alongside Superman and Batman. On the other hand, I have to admit, I really never actually gave a shit about Wonder Woman, so at the very least the big shake-up has got me paying attention.

Then again, how are the films going to do with the obvious R rating they'll get?

Yeah, but these days the R rating is the new NC-17. It just kills any hope a summer movie has of making money.

I'm starting to think Peter Parker and Mary Jane are going to get back together in the near future. Brand New Day was a gamble that paid off in the long run and I'm kind of diasppointed to see this happen.

In a lot of ways, I really hated BND. It just struck me as the most blatant and infuriating retcon ever.

Some movies with R ratings do very well, but it's no secret that in the past decade or so studios have really tried to stay away from that rating to increase the box office.
Making Alien, Predator and Terminator sequels PG-13 is an example, and even most horror and slasher movies these days aim to stay below R. Die Hard 4 was shot to be an R, but edited down to be a PG-13 for theaters. I'm glad they at least shot it appropriately so I could enjoy it on DVD. I literally waited to see it on video when I heard that was their plan. Studios also seem to be wising up a little though. They realize that certain types of franchises and movies are just tailored for an R rating, and going against that and lessening quality/pissing fans off can be just as detrimental to the numbers as the big bad R. |

The change itself was badly done, but the end result was actually quite good. I've been following ASM completely ever since, something I never really bothered to do with Spidey titles beforehand.

I saw Die Hard 4 in theaters and then waited for the DVD. There really wasn't that much difference besides some missing language (which is a huge part of the Die Hard universe) but they should really do this with all films that started out with an R rating. |

It's a shame that content gets in the way of making money. Sometimes there might be an exception like with Terminator 3, it was rated R and it did better than Salvation (probably due to the hype of following Judgment Day) I'm not sure if the site counts DVD buys for the worldwide gross, but here it is-
http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=terminator3.htm Domestic Total Gross: $150,371,112 Worldwide Gross: $433,371,112 http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=...rsalvation.htm Domestic Total Gross: $125,322,469 Worldwide Gross: $371,353,001 |

T4 didn't star Arnold and followed an only okay sequel. But most importantly it didn't star Arnold.

Odered the first 5 trades of the recent iron fist series. Definitely one of the best series running atm.

I agree. Except that it isn't running anymore.
The recent "take" on Iron Fist would be good for churning out another Marvel movie. |
