If Mike Rice Jr. coached football, would anybody even care about his coaching tactics?
Was wondering this yesterday. Seems like he is just coaching like a typical football coach, but since its basketball its somehow perceived as being sociopathic. What are ur thoughts

If you think that is typical coaching in any sport on any level, you are wrong.

Football coaches still get in trouble at least once to a few times a year for doing stuff like this or somewhat similar. Tends to be at the high school or lower level and usually ends with someone dying or lawsuits.

I'd love to see all these high schools where coaches call kids "fucking fairy faggots" while kicking them and throwing balls at their head because I refuse to believe it is that prevalent. I believe it in the 50s - 70s, but the modern era has diminished such shitty people in this business because it is no longer acceptable and most kids will simply go home and play XBox at the end of the day than put up with abuse. There are shitheads who feel the need to be "old school hardasses", but they by no means are the standard. This coach and others like him should be criminally charged. I wouldn't treat my cat the way he treated his players. There is a difference between being a strong coach who curses and being a violent twat who demeans his kids.
