Realignment...
Every team in the NHL will play home-and-home; the Stanley Cup Playoffs will begin inside each conference, with the top four teams squaring off in divisional playoffs. The four conference champions will advance to face each other for the right to play for the Stanley Cup. Commission Gary Bettman said that the final playoff format will be decided by the general managers in the spring. Thoughts? |

As a long time Pens fan, I love to see that they've reunited the Patrick Division (with the addition of Carolina).
But I would have loved to see Toronto back in the Norris Division with Detroit. At least they didn't cram the Jets into the same division with Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary. One of Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal should have been moved into the new Patrick Division, screw rivalries, it's lame to cram all the Canadian teams into one division. |

I'm curious to hear the future details of having four conferences instead of four divisions.
Will there be two new Conference Trophies? Will the Wales and Campbell Conference Trophies be discarded? Now is as good a time as ever to bring back the Prince of Wales Conference (C & D) as Adams and Patrick, and Clarence Campbell Conference (A & B) as Smythe and Norris Divisions. Keep it to 2 actual Conferences, not 4. Rumours are already flying about adding teams (Quebec, the Hammer, Markham) or Phoenix moving to the Wales Conference as the new Nordiques. |

The Hawks are driving me nuts right now, but Jonathon Toews is the motherfucking truth. This guy is on another level right now....alone.

SO basically they took the Northeast Division, added Florida and Tampa, and called it a conference.
If 4 teams make the playoffs per year, Gotta like toe Sabres odds. I like Philly, NY, NY, NJ, Phil and Wash. THAT is nice. We will see. I refuse to let them say Conference ABCD Fuckers BETTER knuckle up some sweet names. |

People on ESPN's comment board wondered why the NHL didn't take advantage of the Boston-New York rivalry in sports but it never really developed as a rivalry in hockey unlike in baseball and football. Bruins have the Canadian teams as stronger historic rivals than the Rangers. |

I feel like it might get old after 5 years of the same teams kick each other around in round 1 and 2. Like Washington, Philly, Pitt and NY are going to be playing each other in round 1 and 2 for the next 5 years. Unless NYI, NYJ or Carolina turn it around, which I dont see.
COuld get old. But will also make for HUGE rivalries. |

Really wished Detroit was in Toronto's division. One of the biggest rivalries in hockey is being wasted.

Everytime I watch the Wings, I swear Bertuzzi tries to kill someone. He just cross checked the living shit out if Oshie and got away with it. Oshie's face is broke for sure lol.

Curse you David Clarkson!!!!!!!
Winnipeg doesn't have anybody who fights besides Tanner Glass and Chris Thorburn so that'd be a bad idea. |

They play such a boring brand of hockey, although they have to with their defense.

Here's my plan to get things back on track:
Fire everyone who is under Geoff Molson in the hierarchy. Pierre Gauthier, Jacques Martin, all the assistants, recruitment. We have to change the entire mentality here. This shit has been going on for too long. The Habs have a habit of drafting good players, making them wait 2 to 3 years in the AHL in order "break them" I guess, and then they bring them back up. As soon as a new guy makes one little mistake, he gets scratched. How the fuck are they supposed to improve? They're very near to completely messing up Subban. They almost did it with Price, but thankfully the guy didn't give a shit. I'm convinced the Habs could have messed up Sydney Crosby if they had drafted him. |

It was a beautiful streak while it lasted and what a streak it was.
29 out of 30 possible points. Bruins went from last in the East and 2nd worst in the NHL to #2 in the East (fewer games played than #1) and top 4 overall. Time to start another good streak starting with the Panthers. |

That was a punk job tbh. I watched that entire game and Winnipeg was punking the shit out of them until half way through the third.

Graham James pleads guilty to sexually assaulting Theo Fleury. I don't know if you guys are into reading hockey bio's like I am ( I read 1-2 a week), but DEFINITELY pick up Theo Fleury's bio "Playing With Fire" co authored by Kirstie McLellan Dey. She co-authored Ron MacLean's and Bob Probert's bio's as well and are must reads.

Rogers and Bell combine to buy 75% of Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment.
Why the fuck can't we have one owner like normal people. Christ, the ownership of the Leafs has been a disaster since Conn Smythe sold the damn team to Ballard, Stafford Smythe and Company over years ago. |

Yeah, not really happy about the sale of MLSE to Rogers & Bell. Two so-called competitors, teaming up. But who else had a billion dollars to take it off the Teacher's hands.
Also gotta wonder what the Teacher's can do with a billion dollars for a more solid and guaranteed return than owning the Leafs. Not bad that they made approximately 10x profit from their purchase price 17 years ago. Some people are calling it the death of watching the Leafs on HNIC. Long live Hockey Night in Canada! |

Bruins snapped 2 game loosing streak but loosing Chara to an injury is a big blow to the defense if it turns out to be serious.
Thomas got pulled from goal but Rask stepped in to ensure the win was possible. |

Can't believe how many players are out with concussions. Is this an indication that countless players played with concussions in the past? Or is it just that the spotlight is on concussions now, so we didn't really realize players dropping to the IR like flies in the past.
- Crosby - Letang - Giroux - Skinner - Pitkanen - Michalek - Pronger - Schenn - Richards - McDonald - Staal |

Watching HBO's 24/7 series. Too much harsh language for my taste.
