Larry Dallas on Busted Open made the point that Goldberg didn't debut til way after Nitro had beaten RAW in the aratings and by the time he was champion RAW was back to winning regularly

No one is mad at Goldberg personally, they just can't forget their WMXX match. |

It's amazing that 12 years after they shit the bed, this match is still as full of hype and energy as it was in 2004. People forget how hyped that match was at WMXX hence why it was such a letdown. Surely they will want to "make things right" from that match.

He was all WCW had once they ruined Sting at Starrcade 97 and refused to give DDP the world title push until Spring Stampede 99. That's why they hot shot the belt on him in the summer.

People jizzing over the same matches every week but being down on an actual star coming back are making my head ache. Gonna track down that Goldberg promo.

Goldberg was the first wrestler I was ever a mark for, so I'm excited as fuck to see him back. He's clearly going to job to Brock and it probably won't even be close, but I don't care.

I think he'll look good for a second. Maybe it'll be like a Goldberg squash, with Brock finding a powder, regaining himself and then killing Goldie?

I don't see this being a squash. I just hope they don't give it too much time. Epic entrances, epic stare down, crazy brawl, Kickout of finishers, crazy counter into the F5...BROCK WINS. 15-20 minutes tops. With Goldberg wanting to have his son see him wrestle and stuff and how much of a pain in the ass he's been in the past, no way he comes back just lets Brock roll over him.

Goldberg probably put in a "no wigs" clause though.

The $1,000,000 Question is who is finally going to be the one to beat Lesnar clean and will they get the "megastar" they need out of that win to justify all the money and wins they've given Brock Lesnar. Is it at WM 33 or another year or 2 down the line? How much longer can they milk Brock destroying people as a major draw?

Brock/Goldberg should be a 3 minute squash where Goldberg goes over.

His fat little son can finish off Brock like he did Goldberg last night, with naiomis finisher to the face.

Raw just feels thrown together without any thought any more. I'm over the crusierweights, silly to change the ring like that every time. And having them be the last match of Raw is dumb. They tried to copy the CWC and its just not working. I don't think they should have held Goldburg til last either. Goldburg vsLesnar should be good though, no way they stink it up twice. Could care less about the women's Hell in the Cell. I just feel its to much to fast. They have never even had a cage match but that's what you get when the PPV is named after a gimmick match.

None of these woman have ever been in a cage match though. 13 years ago they had a women's cage match, why did they stop? I'm all for the women doing as much as the men but start them off with regular gimmick matches before you put them in a Hell in a Cell match. I'm sure they will have a good match but it just feels to forced in my opinion. As I said though when you have PPVs named after gimmick matches it kind of forces them to put them in a Cell.

Goldberg presentation was excellent, only a geek would say it wasn't. I liked that he played up being a superhero to the kids. Will be interesting to see if WWE tries to keep him around as a special attraction for a couple Manias. I know he said this was his last deal, but that can easily be changed. Too bad the fans in Toronto will likely crap on him just cuz they think that are cooler than the room. Would be better if those fans weren't always trying to be the show. But we'll enjoy their money anyway.
Didn't see anything else this week, but I'm sure it was good. |
