I hope not. Honestly, if that were the angle they were gonna go with, I'd probably rather have them flash forward like 20 years and have it be revealed that Harrison has taken over the work. Although I don't want that to happen either cause I like the idea of Dexter succeeding in raising a normal child. Maybe Cody and Astor as a brother/sister combo like Dex and Deb right now, but can't see that either. I just don't really think anyone would care if it were Zack taking over since he's a brand new character and also looks like a little prick.

I hope they manage to tie everything up nicely at the end though. I mean, there aren't really many loose ends with the side characters like Batista, Jamie, Quinn, Vince etc, but I just hope they give them some sort of ending and not just have them in the background. I'm a huge sucker for show finales though so I'll most likely be sold on it on an "emotional" level anyway.

Like I said though, I'm enjoying it, but I can't help but feel this main plot is a little lackluster for a big ending. I think last years story arc, with the Bay Harbour Butcher stuff coming up again, would've been better served for the final season, in my opinion.

it feels like that's what they're setting up for, which leads me to believe it's just too obvious. but i think they'll keep teasing it, which is cool because i love quinn as well. he could really use a win. poor guy makes terrible choices, and could stand to redeem himself.

God dammit. The episode synopsis on Plex read: "Dexter monitors a young psychopath to see if he is suited for his table. Dexter and Debra finally get back to normal, but are surprised by his ex, Hannah."

It pulls the episode info from thetvdb.com. Who was the jackoff cunt that put that right in the episode description? Kind of killed it a bit for me. Still excited to see where this goes though.

Vogel started out as a great character..now she's just there and isn't important.

I never dug Hannah , she ruined the second half of season 7 by turning Dex into a big pussy. Hope she isn't involved as much in the coming episodes, maybe Deb can just shoot her and be done with it.

Thought tonight's episode was real good. Did not expect to see Zack dead at the end there. Esp with the brain surgeon thing. It's gotta be someone from Vogel's life or something. Or maybe she is the surgeon and is keeping the samples herself to throw Dexter off the scent. Idk. Great episode though, this season has been mad good. Also fuck yeah Dex getting his dick wet some more. ALSO also, not a whole lot new on the 'Masuka's daughter' front. Wonder what that is going to lead to, if anything. What ever happened with the Ice Truck Killer hand thing that the one chick stole from evidence or w/e? I am foggy on how that was wrapped up. Was it ever explained?

Yeah I think that's right. I remember thinking "there's going to be more to this storyline" when I watched that. Maybe I was just disappointed with the way it turned out. My longterm memory is awful, too much alcohol.

vogel being vague about her past and what made her interested in psychopaths is interesting. is she a psychopath that was taught how to live by a certain code to survive in society? was she the victim of one that survived and has an obsession with them as a result? interesting character. glad the brain surgeon is back. seemed far too easy. hope he doens't end up chopping up dexter's head as an ending. zack getting the chop was surprising. lets see how much that fuels quinn's fire to keep looking into him. still think there's a good chance he busts dexter.

Yeah I think Quinn def nails him. I annoyingly actually watched the preview for next week's episode (hate watching those, spoil so much) and the whole "Quinn kissing Deb" thing opens up some interesting questions. Are they going towards a "Deb kills Dex" type finale, with Quinn exposing him and Deb siding with him? Does Deb side with Dex and they take out Quinn? At that point, how many police officers are they going to get away with killing?

I really hope the writers have a good endgame planned, there's a lot of possibilities here and I'd hate a good series to end on a flat note with a shitty finale. Right now though the show feels as good as it has in years.

Yeah I hope it is leading to something more than just an excuse to show some nice small titties (love them) and give Masuka some extra character depth. I love Masuka but the ship has sailed on trying to establish characters in the show's last season.

Can only see the brain surgeon being Vogel herself now. Maybe she does it "unknowingly" or something. Like a split personality thing. It's too late to introduce someone new and it really only leaves her, Deb's boss or Deb herself I guess in some forced twist. Def has to be Vogel imo.

But yeah still not sure how they're gonna end the whole thing. Some sort of Deb/Dex showdown probably. Maybe dexter kills Quinn which finally makes Deb snap and kill/arrest dexter?

I would LOVE that. Just see Dex go totally unhinged. Have like the 2nd-last ep be him just throwing the code aside and being really reckless. Ends with him getting caught and the last episode basically being the fallout/epilogue.

It seems obvious Quinn is behind the Hamilton thing, with the door handle or w/e. Would he go so far as to kill Cassie though? I don't think they've really built Quinn up to be "possessed" about catching Hamilton (like they did with Doakes and BHB), it just seems too much of a stretch to think Quinn would do something THAT brash. I've love to be wrong though.
