I'm starting to think one year of horribleness beats the hell out of becoming the Bengals or Broncos, if it means we get Luck.

The only way the Colts draft Luck is if they are above 85% certain that Manning is one more hit or something away from being done. If he can come back, I would think he would still have at least 3-4 years left in him if not more, which is the most of the time time Luck would be under contract, probably not playing. You can't pay top pick money to someone whos not gonna play for 3-4 years. They definitely should shop around the #1 pick and see who gives them back the most in return. Probably the trade partner would be Miami and they could get their likely top 5 pick and a bunch of other picks next year and in the future for him..

What's wrong with having a quarterback on the bench behind a hall of famer for 3-4 years? Look at Aaron Rodgers compared to Alex Smith

I dont see Peyton Manning retiring, coming back, retiring, taking pictures of his cock, etc
Also Rodgers was the 24th pick, not #1 |

If someone drafts and stashes Luck away for a while, they're not sticking a $50 million contract on the bench anymore. The rookie wage scale is gonna make it way easier to sit rookie QBs.

What does the draft number matter? If the guy is going to be groomed by Manning who cares? Luck goes to Indy, sits at least a year learning the Colts offense and learning from Manning, and then takes over once Manning calls it quits.

I can understand why Tennessee hasn't played him (Locker) yet as Hasslebeck seems to be doing decent, but the Vikings are going nowhere fast. Just put Ponder in already, you're not going to the playoffs anyways. If the Bengals, Panthers, and Jags are doing it, what's your excuse Vikings? Last edited by Ermaximus; 10-04-2011 at 12:31 PM. Yeah wtf how could sitting Luck behind Peyton ever be considered a bad idea? Time to iron out any issues while learning about the offense and game in general from one of the best ever? Yeah that's a terrible fucking idea

Main problem I see is that some of the Colts main starters will likely be close to retiring about the time Peyton retires, or shortly after even. On the upside, a young offense could be tailored around Andrew Luck instead of trying to fit him into a Peyton Manning style offense. With several years to learn from the master, Luck could potentially be a dominating force very quickly when he steps up to be a starter. It could be very beneficial to pick him up now, and use the next several years to start filling spots that could potentially be empty around the time Peyton leaves.
Really liked this season's drafts, though it appears 2 of them went out with an injury last game. Don't know what they're looking like for the rest of the season, but by next season and with Peyton back, Colts are going to be scary and pissed. Texans and Titans better enjoy their time in the spotlight fighting it out. Peyton is gonna be back with a vengeance. |

I get an erection just thinking about Luck ( probably the best qb prospect to come out in the last 15 years) getting groomed by Peyton Manning.

don't really see why the Colts would draft Luck number 1 when they could draft someone to help Peyton Manning win a Super Bowl
unless Manning retires |

What are the odds of the Colts being totally fucked at QB after Peyton retires if they don't take advantage now?

lol... you realize you guys will probably win some games before the dolfins and rams do right?
Theres too much peripheral talent on the colts team to go winless on a season. Also anyone who thinks that players would downplay or throw games for a future draft pick are retarded. Seasons like this are resume building seasons for good players on that team that will be looking for another team if it continues to head south or looking to get more money from the colts in the future. |

No I think the tank is on. They cut there second best corner for fun. Monday night, they ran the same vanilla zone defense as the Bucs ran the same play 10 straight times. No adjustments. Last sunday night they had the middle linebacker matched up against Mike Wallace on the 80 yard td. Monday night they matched there outside linebacker on Arelious Benn when he ran that long touchdown that called back.
I honestly think they are trying to tank. I think Kerry Collins was an act of tanking. This Chiefs game this week... Dexter Mccluster might make the Pro Bowl off this game alone. |

The players aren't tanking. They won't tank. The coaches and there schemes and play calling is how you tank.

Man, I was getting fairly pessimistic here but it's not over yet. If the Niners can take out the Eagles, then surely they stand a chance against the Bucs. Not so sure about the Lions. ugh.

Narc, you act like the 49ers aren't going to win their division this year. Let's face it, it's theirs to lose. Rams are hurting bad so they're out, Seattle is just dreadful, and Arizona is really all you have to beat.
49ers will win the NFC West. Also, fuck Ochocinco. He's been dropped in favor of Eric "Mean Mother Fucker" Decker on my fantasy team. |
