Lawler for me. While I liked Bryan, Lawler had a more overall it factor and he was an amazing heel.

Yeah, he had decent matches with Bret Hart. I highly doubt anyone here is too up on prime Lawler though, nor would they prefer to sit back and watch an afternoon of Lawler matches over an afternoon of D-Bry matches. So I find it hilarious that people are tripping over themselves to vote for him like it's an obvious choice.

Bryan's like my second favorite professional wrestler of all time and, as is the case with most of my favorites, he could work multiple different styles and do so beautifully.
He wasn't as influential as Lawler, who was brilliant at what he did. But I've enjoyed watching Bryan a lot more so he gets my vote. Really glad to see it's close though. |

There are some old school wrestling fans here but not nearly enough to where I thought Lawler had a chance to win here.

Just wanna remind everyone that treasures drawing power as the ultimate criteria in these things that when Bryan was white hot with the marks and going for the world title it produced one of the lowest PPV buyrates in almost 2 decades.

Do we still use buyrates in a post network world?

Gotta go with Daniel Bryan as he main evented a WrestleMania which means he made it further than Jerry Lawler did.

That being said, the SummerSlam he headlined against Cena was the lowest drawing SummerSlam in almost 2 decades and the Battleground PPV 2 months later was the 2nd lowest drawing PPV period in almost 2 decades. People weren't paying to watch him. |

Hell in a Cell was actually higher than one of the "Big 4" in Survivor Series once Bryan was swapped out for da Big Show. |

I mean how old school are we talking here? I have been watching wrestling as long as I can remember and I was born in 1986. I didn't think there were too many people here significantly older than that, and how many of them were in the Memphis area watching Jerry Lawler regularly?

I think Daniel Bryan is going to be hard to beat, only a few names, ie, absolute legends like Austin or Rock, or a CM Punk (maybe) could beat him...

i was born in august 1996 around the beginning of the NWO. I honestly like a lot of the old school wrestling, the catch-as-catch-can stuff. I went with The King just based on his heel work alone. I'm glad we have the Network so i get to enjoy all the old content.

Not butthurt at all, but find this result amazing. This technically means that Daniel Bryan is a better professional wrestler, as in all aspects of performing, than Jerry Lawler, Terry Funk and Harley Race.
Pretty incredible result, even with modern leanings of the board. |

I have learnt from these polls that styles make fights. You cant apply the because lawler beat guy a,b, and c, daniel bryan is better than them.
