I can't believe that just over 2 months ago, Johan had throw a no-hitter and was looking like a potential All Star. Now he's having pretty much the statistically worst season of his career.

Also, Jason Bay continues to be shockingly useless. Entered mid-way through the game today and struck out twice, each on 3 pitches. Average down to .150 on the year. Literally pitchers level. The Mets have had some horrendous bust signings in their time, but Bay might be the worst.
Sandy has said he is not getting released this year under any circumstances. But I'm expecting him to get the axe midway through camp next year. Another team is bound to give him a courtesy tryout for free, but his career could be just about over. |

Even worse than Bobby Bonillia who last played for the team in 1999 and yet still is on the payroll for another 20 or so years?

Bay is still worse. At least Bonilla's only taking up a small fraction of the payroll. The Mets meanwhile will probably have no financial flexibility until Bay is off the books after 2013.
I'm sure Bay is a nice guy, but I do hope he continues to get booed every time he comes up. Eventually it'll force the front office's hand, even if not until Spring Training next year. |

Look at my Rays take over 2nd place in the AL East (they remain 6 back behind New York) and tie Oakland for first place in the Wild Card (.5 in front of Detroit and Baltimore).
We have James Shields going today, let's see if we can sweep these Twins. |

Oh snap! Who's on a 6 game winning streak, is now 5 games back in the AL East and in 1st place alongside the Orioles in the Wild Card?
On to Seattle we go! |

Tampa OWES the Orioles a favor for last year, they better not forget that when it comes down to the last 3 games in October

LOL we're gonna win at least 2 out of 3 in that series, unless we've clinched a playoff birth and we rest our starters.
With Alex Cobb, Jeremy Hellickson, James Shields and David Price, no way Baltimore wins 2 out of 3. |

Touché.
Y'all have Boston, Detroit and Texas coming up. We have Seattle, LAA and Kansas City. Let's worry about the present. |

Well, the Yankees did sign Derek Lowe.
If Robinson Cano goes down, watch them bring back IF Enrique Wilson. |

The Braves are running a six-man rotation for the next two weeks. Hope it works out; most of the guys on the staff could use the rest.
