Also, Im rooting for any scenario which gets the Titans in at 6 and Raiders in at 4 the playoffs since the Ravens made the Super Bowl by beating the Titans in the Divisional Round and the Raiders in the AFC Championship...both on the road though. The Ravens would have to get the #1 seed and the Titans would have to beat the Texans (possible) and the Raiders would have to beat the Steelers (maybe) and the Patriots (I doubt it).
Also obviously rooting for the New York Giants, although they were a #1 seed when they went to the Super Bowl and now they would be the #4 (whereas the Ravens were the #4 seed when they won the Super Bowl and now they'd be #1) and if everything plays out opposite, then obviously it sounds like the Ravens would lose the Super Bowl lol.. Hard to believe but Saturday is the 11th anniversary of the Ravens beating the Broncos in the Wild Card game the year they went to the Super Bowl. |

Who cares if you face the same teams from 11 years ago as long as you win? How many Ravens are even around from that team? Like one? Is it just Ray Lewis?
Just be happy with your #2 seed ffs. |

It doesn't matter who we beat to win the Super Bowl. Those teams aren't the same, so the results wouldn't be the same. Fucking hell, focus on this season and this team.

I just like chances when history repeats itself.
And Ive already said that Im willing to bet GB/NO don't make it to the Super Bowl so the Giants making it would fit what Im saying. |

Krispy, tell me what you think about the likely New Orleans/SF match-up in the playoffs. I think that NO will probably have the edge but talking to Saints fanboys is fucking annoying as shit. This game will not be a breeze and in no way is SF an easy out, especially at home. To me, I'm thinking the difference is probably going to be Brees playing passes out of the range of our defenders and with Jimmy Graham on the field, defense will likely be a nightmare in the red zone for us. Those high passes to Graham in the end zone are major killers because they are extremely difficult to defend due to the height and leaping advantage of Graham.
If the 49ers takeaways are going to be a big factor in the game, it probably won't happen in the red zone. I'm confident that we can put enough pressure on Brees to stop him from make a high number of miraculous plays, but with a guy like Breez, he only needs a couple of solid looks per drive to be effective. I think SF could win the game, but it's going to take some strategy. Overall I'd take Saints +2 |

lol had no idea Marshawn Lynch was so into Skittles that he eats them before and during games (including a dispenser at his locker and a fat bowl on the sideline) as well as wearing Skittles cleats, which he just got fined for

I guess the story is that when he was a child, his Mom would always give him a handful of Skittles if he scored a touchdown and he never stopped the tradition.

I'm taking a stand and putting all my chips on on my team this Sunday. I'm betting $2,500 that the Cowboys win and beat the spread.

Got a hunch the Cowboys will pull it out too. The Giants don't know how to win 2 big games in a row, and I can't see the Cowboys getting swept. Not that any of that really matters in this early play off game, but yeah.

God I hope the Jets and Texans win just to prolong the Jets season life until the late games at least. That'll be so exciting then rooting for the Ravens, Chiefs and Chargers simultaneously.

Alot needs to happen for the Titans to get the wild card spot but things aren't looking all that unreasonable at this point. The Titans would need to beat the Texans, which I think they can do handily. They would also need the Bengals to lose to the Ravens, the Jets to win, and need either Denver or Oakland to lose.
That's alot, but it doesn't seem all the improbable. -edit- I suppose a loss by the Jets and two wins from Denver and Oakland would do it too. |

Would be so strange if the Titans made it. They've had barely no mention of anything and I've lived in the state the whole season.

I thought the Jets were the last in the pecking order for the final AFC spot? My understanding was that it was Bengals, Raiders, Titans, Jets.
If that's the case I could definitely see the Titans getting in. The Ravens have something to play for and the AFC West is essentially unpredictable so the Chiefs could easily go over the Raiders. Texans meanwhile are going to be resting everybody to avoid any more injuries. |

As for the Giants, the game is really a toss up. The elements should favor the Giants, but who really knows. The crowd will be juiced up early but the second the Cowboys convert more than one 3rd down in the same drive they'll be sitting on their hands. Also there are always a ton of Cowboys fans there, especially since it's a night game and people who have a lengthy commute to the game are probably putting their tickets on eBay.

Broncos win - AFC West champs Broncos lose, Raiders win - Raiders AFC West champs Broncos and Raiders lose - AFC West champs Any scenario involving the Jets and a Broncos win doesn't matter because their win would take the West regardless. Basically it's division title or nothing for Denver |

Even if Cincy does lose and the Titans win, Cincy can still take #6 due to holding the tiebreaker over Tennessee as long as the Jets lose and whoever is #2 in the West also lose. Jets need everyone ahead of them to lose in order to trigger their tiebreaker advantage against Cincy. They don't have any with Tennessee nor Oakland. |

The only way Tennessee gets in (set up that scenario by win % btw) is that they beat Houston and Denver and Cincy loses but then they'd have to play Houston back-to-back because Houston would be #3

Denver game has no effect on ANY of the wildcard potentials.
Denver is either in at 9-7 as AFC West champs, in at 8-8 as AFC West champs or eliminated at 8-8. Denver has no shot at the Wildcard |

For Tennesse to get # 6 they have to beat Houston, Jets have to beat Miami, and either the Tebows, er, Broncos or Raiders lose

I got $4,000 riding on the Chargers and Jets as underdogs, along with the Cowboys..and the Ravens and 49ers as Favorites. 49ers -11.5 is risky but they need to play to win to keep the bye week and its the Rams for crying out loud.
