Ironic that tonight was supposed to be a three hour McMahon-centered episode. Well, it's three hours to pay tribute to one of the greatest technical grapplers in the business. Ever. (geez, that irrational part of me just wants Eddie and Benoit to walk out tonight and go... "WE LIED!!!") |

Goodbye, old pal...he was another superstar who was way way way too young to die (40). Well, he will be happy to see his best friend Eddie Guerrero up there in Heaven. Not to mention, a lot of us are still getting over Sensational Sherri’s sudden passing. I don’t mean to be stupid, but maybe Vince should be taking this as a lesson, that death isn’t something you can put into the script of your life and fake it when it really happens, like a wrestling storyline. This just further goes to prove that we must live every day to the fullest, for we never know when it will be our turn to return to the ground, and life is way too short to be running around scared of dying. We might as well make good use of the time we get with friends and family in our earthly lives, because some of these people we will surely not see for quite some time after our/their passing. |

It says this in wikipedia
D"eath Angle On June 25th the WWE announced Benoit and his family to be dead, but it has been confirmed this is part of the 'murder' storyline that has also taken Mr. McMahon's "life" Hope it's true |

And guys like Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Lance Storm, and William Regal are probably taking this hard.
And the fans who will be at Raw live tonight, they probably won't find out about this until right before the show starts. |

Simply can't take in this news, just off to bed and saw this, now have to stay up to see what is said on Raw.
I haven't seen any timeframes involved as most sites are crashing (inc WWE.com), but if this happened yesterday - is it another case of the 'show must go on' BS? People were saying how poor it was, maybe a coincedence, I dunno. Pretty unforgivable if it was. RIP Chris, you were a true Champion in every sense of the word. |

There is still a small part of me that believes this is all a work and is tied to the McMahon/Death angle and that they are just covering this up really, really well. I mean, there's no secrets in wrestling anymore right? Maybe McMahon has figured out some ways to shock people again and get them watching...I wouldn't put it past him! The man is a genius.
I really think there's a chance we will all be laughing at this thread later....well, not all of us will be laughing. I think many people will be disgusted. Anyway, my point here is we shouldn't assume things just yet. |

Dunno if what you said is true or not, Sickboy, but I do hope it is also. It’s pretty fucking pathetic to use wrestling as a veiled way of toying with people’s emotions.
And Benoit's page was most recently edited on Wikipedia as such: On June 25, 2007, WWE.com reported that Benoit and his family were found dead in their Atlanta home and that police were investigating the situation. Now, I’m no writer or anything for WWE, but if, if, they are using this as a way of continuing the McMahon death angle as though the WWE has a hidden serial killer, it would be pretty damn disgusting. I checked the Atlanta news stations websites and nothing was mentioned and I'm sure they would've picked up on a story involving a whole fucking family being found dead by now.

This is pretty hard to believe. I remember when Eddie died pretty much every section of WWE's homepage had videos, pictures, news, interviews, etc about him. They only have a short story and a section for pictures for Benoit. They still have a WWE mobile link up which you think they would replace pretty quickly.
Could be that I'm just trying to find excuses to believe this isn't real at this point but does seem a bit odd. Hope this is part of the storyline. |

I hope no one is seriously using Wikipedia as a reputable source, and that those things are just being posted as speculation.
Although fuck... I'm sure everyone's with me that this being an angle, no matter how sick, twisted, perverted, and horrible, would still be better than the real thing. We're getting the same reactions as when Eddie died, btw. Same ones. |

Guys, I realize I am a jobber in this place....
But please...just remember that Zeeboe a.k.a. Val Venis was the one who first predicted that it was a work. Infact, I am starting to believe more and more that this is all staged. You'll all be laughing at yourselves later for this and for many years to come...mark my words...hell, I already am laughing at some of you. As for you who are sickened by McMahon...I bet you'll still watch his product and really hate his guts....which is what he wants. McMahon has figured out once again how to shock people...I wish I were related to him...I'd be so rich.... Last edited by Zeeboe; 06-25-2007 at 06:52 PM. |

Holy fucking shit. I hope it's an angle. I hope Benoit blew up the limo.
It's a bit suspicious that he happened to have to leave Texas and then was found dead. If this is true this really is very sad and I have to say Rest in Peace to one of the greatest. This is like Eddie all over again, figuring it's an angle. When I read it on the front page I went right to PWInsider to check it. Oh Lord this is bad. |

Guys... it's only been an hour since this news broke. Even the internet has its limit on speed of report.
I've check the sites too, and we'll see what's going on. Although, yeah, I'm holding onto a shread of hope that this is all a work. Still a shread... |

Benoit had been scheduled to appear on a WWE house show on Saturday. Sources tell us Benoit called to first say he would be taking a later flight, and then to say he would not be attending the house show due to a family illness. According to one source, Benoit said both his wife and son were throwing up blood and he needed to stay to take care of them. |

I just don't know how seriously to take it after all the shit they've pulled, but fuck. I can't believe even WWE would do that. So I'm assuming that Chris and his family really are dead, and that sucks balls. But Hell, I would almost rather it just be some sick joke. |

Thinking more about it I think it actually is a work.
Maybe it's more hope than anything, but putting the things together already mentioned it could well be. Also with RAW being 3 hours tonight, we've known that for a long-time maybe it was always scheduled to be a false Benoit appreciation night, rather than another McMahon show. I feel bad saying this is a work because it very well may be legit and I don't want to have doubted the reality of this situation. Really don't know how to feel right now :S |

To my friend Chris Benoit R.I.P.
I was sitting here at my computer when I got a call informing me of the death of Chris Benoit and his family. Other than saying that my thoughts go out to to his remaining family, I don't know what to say. Chris had just called me on Thursday to check on me as he has every week since my surgery and now days later I find out that he's gone. He was my friend. This hurts! This fucking sucks!!!! Rest in peace my friend! Love you! Takin from Gregory Helms' Myspace blog. |

I hope this is a work, I really do, but it just doesn't make sense for it to be. He had no connection to Vince McMahon in storyline terms, so this being a serial killer angle doesn't make too much sense. Plus they've taken down all the Mr. McMahon stuff. I hope this isn't how karma works. Mr. McMahon may have been an ass for playing with death, but Benoit doesn't deserve to be taken to prove a point. Nor does his family. R.I.P. Chris, Nancy and Daniel. I also get bad feelings about this. Three people don't just die, especially after a family emergeancy. I don't want to speculate, but I think we have all considered two of the possible scenarios. Let's hope it isn't so. Fuck, let's just hope this is all a work. |

It takes time to formulate a report on something. Even WWE.com's announcement was just a blurb. Most news agencies won't post something (written or announced on the news) unless there's details.
If anyone lives in Atlanta and has any news or radio news on, though, it *might* be mentioned there... I dunno. I'm not letting myself feel right now. |

If it's not a work, and Vince doesn't come out on stage at the beginning of the show and acknowledge what Benoit meant to the company, like he did with Eddie - then I'll probably be done with the WWE forever.
