They did a teaser image for Scribblenauts where they just had the sillouettes of the Mario/Zelda cast. It was obvious then who it was.
If they include other Mario characters, maybe we could summon a Starman and just be invincable. The Master Sword would make enemies easy. Maybe they'll include Maxwell in SSB? |

Read the voice chat thing a while ago. I think the "game by game basis" sounds like a good idea.
That way, when a kind gets verbally assaulted on a game, his mum can't complain because it was most likely a mature rated game and kids shouldn't be playing them anyway. It is a bit weird that we need the pad, though, but it's obvious that someone will eventually make a wireless headset, so you have your pad in the charging cradle and the headset reciever plugged in. No battery drain. I think the fact we can't use the built in pad mic is an obvious strrategy from Nintendo. They'll eventually allow it. Like the 3DS card limits. The game cards can hold something like 8 gigs but Nintendo only allows the use of 2.5 gigs right now, or something. You know in a couple years, they'll let devs use the whole 8 gigs and we'll get bigger and prettier games. |

Can't wait for this.
Not sure whether to get Black Ops 2 on this or Xbox though. My head is saying Xbox. |

EA revealed it was very easy for them to port Origin to the service with the only big difference is the Network does not store Credit Card info for security reasons and contains Mii-related info.
Everything else is basically the same as an account on any other platform (ex. Steam, XBL, Origin, etc). http://www.joystiq.com/2012/10/23/ea...origin-on-wii/ |

I'll get the system... My thing is this: are they going to have the 3rd party games to support the system. They have the controller and graphics to support the Call of Duties and Maddens... Heck Madden games will fair better if they put the playbook and hot routes on the gamepad screen.

Nintendo revealed the Wii U will be their first console (and second system in a row) they will be selling at a loss when its launched.
The tablet controller is the biggest culprit since its rumored Nintendo makes around $50-$180 on the Wii U alone but the tablet eats up the entire profit and more. http://www.screwattack.com/news/wii-...rding-nintendo Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge for the Wii was revealed to have a November 18 release date along with a list of the exclusive features for this version besides the previously known new battle system and online modes. EA confirms Need for Speed Most Wanted will be arriving for the Wii U but not until 2013 (not date or other details mentioned). All other platforms get it on October 30.

Nintendo announces The November 18 Nintendo Direct will be a very long episode since that is when the entire details regarding Miiverse and the online structure gets released.
http://www.screwattack.com/news/nint...-miiverse-soon Nintendo also revealed because of the strong support by 3rd parties for the Wii U launch window, they've been pushing back several of their own games in order to keep a constant stream of games lasting for all of 2013. They didn't want a repeat of the 3DS where there was a gap of a few months when almost nothing big was released. http://www.screwattack.com/news/nint...ure-sales-2013 Ubisoft announces all the DLC for Assassin's Creed III on PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be available for the Wii U version. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...able-on-wii-u/ |

Wii U's browser being made by the same company who worked on the PS3, Vita, and 3DS browser (Netfront) and while it runs HTML 5 (faster than IE 10 can), it won't support Flash at launch.

It's been completely and utterly surpassed by HTML5 in performance and has become obsolete. Even on YouTube. It's just one more thing that can be exploited for malware and other issues.

There's also a day 1 firmware update. This is the first ever firmware update I don't mind because Iwata actually apologised for it and bowed. Seemed classy as fuck.
Don't see old JTret apologising for the 78th firmware update of the month. |

Wii U GamePad battery can maintain almost a 100% charge for around 500 recharges before it starts to decrease to around 70% afterwards. The batteries are also completely replaceable with a simple screwdriver unlike with Apple devices and the PS3 controller.

Apparently SD cards can't be used to store Wii U downloads unlike with the Wii although it hasn't been completely confirmed by Nintendo and the source is a translation of a recent Q&A.

According to early reviews, Tecmo managed to really improve Ninja Gaiden 3 for the Wii U version but the game itself is still average overall.
The recent Nintendo Direct episode was released mostly detailing how the storage works on the system. Roughly 3-4 GB are used up for system purposes while the system can support as a maximum of 2 TB per USB port although only 1 external drive can be used at launch. Nintendo confirmed SD cards can't be used to store Wii U stuff and instead are meant to store Wii related data and help with the transfer process. http://www.screwattack.com/news/japa...capacity-wii-u |

According to indie developers, Nintendo is giving them almost free reign similar to Steam and Apple in determining pricing and when sales occur. Also like Steam, patches can be issued a lot quicker than on XBLA/PSN and Nintendo isn't charging a fee to have patches uploaded.
http://www.screwattack.com/news/much...heir-own-games According to Destructoid, the newly designed eShop is a lot more accessible and user friendly than the current Xbox Marketplace and redesigned PS Store. Also Nintendo was correct when they said launch day of the Wii U eShop would have retail games since a lot of Wii U games also have their retail versions already available (ex. ZombiU, Assassin's Creed 3, New Super Mario Bros U). http://www.destructoid.com/nintendo-...n-238881.phtml |

Just seen something damn frustrating. I can transfer all my bought VC games from my Wii to my Wii U fine from my hacked console as the tool just takes the download authorisations and downloads them on the Wii U. However, none of the Wii U controllers support Wii mode. I don't own a classic controller or anything as I use Gamecube pads for the VC games.
What this means is to play everything I own, I need a Gamepad Tablet (only controller in the box), Wii Motion Plus, Nunchuck, Classic Controller and maybe even a Wii U Pro controller... Now that's overkill. |

And I might get those too depending on what they offer. With this, I get Nintendo games and Bayonetta 2 and got it for £100 less than what it's selling for. I am actually pretty pumped for the 30th.

Your situation is definitely an awesome benefit, for sure
I just wish Nintendo would "get with it". I mean, I know Wii sold a ton of consoles the last "generation", but it was soooooooooooooooo gimmicky that outside of their household titles (Mario, DK, Metroid, Zelda, etc.) games were CRAP. Now they have another gimmick system, while pretty neat at first glance, I think will lose it's touch in less than a year. They should just make an awesome handheld portable device, I'm NOT looking at you 3DS. |

According to Nintendo they are selling the Wii U at a loss but unlike the 3DS, the amount is soo small that buying one Nintendo game is enough to generate a profit on the console sold.

Nintendo announces 400,000 Wii U's were sold during launch week in the US which is down from 600,000 the Wii sold at launch. In terms of games, 1.2 million games were sold during the same period for the Wii U.
http://www.giantbomb.com/news/ninten...ast-week/4457/ Gearbox explains the reason they didn't port Borderlands 2 to the Wii U was because they couldn't think of anything to include to make the Wii U version special unlike what they are doing for Aliens Colonial Marines for the Wii U. http://www.egmnow.com/articles/news/...borderlands-2/ |
