Problems with certain games on netbooks
Alright, so I bought a netbook to use at work not long ago and it's now stacked with emulators and miscellaneous other old games.
Except for this one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampire...%93_Bloodlines The requirements are: 1.2 GHz Athlon or 1.2 GHz Pentium III, or higher; 384 MB of RAM, Quad-Speed CD-ROM, 3.3 GB uncompressed hard disk space and 1.4 GB for Windows swap file, 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible videocard; 16-bit sound card and drivers I have: Intel Atom N570 1.66GHz 1 GB RAM Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150 I also have more than enough HD space and etcetera. So what's the deal here? Obviously the GMA is the likely culprit but it should be good enough to run an 8 year old game, right? So when I run the game, it loads up after I run the .exe file 2 or 3 times. For whatever reason it never starts up properly the first time. Anyway, character creation and whatnot goes down fine and then the game just becomes choppy as fuck during both video and gameplay aspects. Am I doing something wrong here? Can this netbook just not run this particular game? Help. |

Does it run Half-Life 2? With an Atom and that GFX card, I would be shocked, but it's the same engine so it might just need the game tweaking.
Vampire was a bitch when it came out though, so try this guide and see if the fan patches make it work. http://www.destructoid.com/weekend-m...s-221295.phtml |
