Has Nunzio been acknowledged as a referee yet?
Y'know how usually they mention the ref's name in every match, I've noticed in any match with Nunzio the commentators don't say his name. Ie. 'referee Nunzio making the five count...' or something...

They haven't acknowledge him so far. To my knowledge anyway.
I actually think the announce teams don't acknowledge any of the referees these days. I don't think they have for about a year or so. I remember reading that Vince didn't want the referee's names to be used during matches anymore. But I'm sure some of their names have been said during matches, purely out of habit. |

I remember a while back there was a report that Vince didn't want the announcers to refer to the referees by name......I have no idea what difference it would make, as the majority of the fanbase knows the older referees (Chioda, Robinson, etc.)

As for Nunzio, I don't see why the announcers don't mention that he used to be a wrestler and "can hold his own" or whatever when heels start threatening the ref. Wouldn't hurt anything, doesn't need TV time. And it's something else to say in what sometimes seems awkward. But maybe JR will fix that, I don't know. JR had been feeding lines off and on anyway. So some might not change. But that's off topic. |

I don't think WWE has ever acknowledged Nunzio as a ref. Which is completely assinine, since everyone knows who he is. Kinda like former wrestlers as agents breaking up a brawl and not being acknowledged. Not surprizing though, cause WWE never used the guy anyway...
