Also, the death of Reid Flair is deeply troubly. I normally don't post on wrestling deaths because there's just so many and it's really depressing, but Reid was just so fucking young. It also makes me worry about Ric Flair's health. Just a totally shit situation.

I think I've suggested that on here, and I would love to see it. A great way to put over three of the youngest guys on the WWE roster.

I don't think that would sit well as the final image that closes Mania - which is why it would be great. They could do the same thing on the following Raw to setup a match at Extreme Rules but it'd have nowhere near as much impact.

No. It's a Raw finish. There's no "oomph" to it. The Shield have already attacked Rock and Cena multiple times. It's not how you end the biggest night of the year. It's how you end a random episode of Raw.

The only way The Shield can get involved and it making sense is either it leads to Cena's heel turn (which means they don't attack Cena) or someone like Orton becomes the boss of the Shield. That would give an easy setup for a potential Cena-Orton feud for the title after the Rock leaves.

Also lets Cena & Rock get an easy win similar to what they did to Miz and Truth without it being a "Nexus"-damaging moment and treat that as another "throw-a-way" match like Cena had the first time with the group.

There's no "oomph" to it? I get you don't like the idea, but just say that. There would be plenty of "oomph" behind it.

Imagine this:

The Rock and John Cena wrestle the match you expect them to. Actually, they don't -- I have a feeling that Cena, in both reality and in the sense of his kayfabe character, is going to step things up and pull out things we've never seen before. Perhaps we see Cena come off the top rope with a splash, maybe he pulls out a Spear, and maybe we even see him dip into the move set of other wrestlers. It'd send the internet into a frenzy if we saw Cena pull out stuff from Japan.

Anyway, eventually Cena manages to get like a third Attitude Adjustment on The Rock and pins him. Or maybe even it's the STF that forces The Rock to tap out. Either way, Cena is an eleven-time WWE Champion. Some fans are cheering, some fans are booing (because that's still cool and all). Cena celebrates with his new WWE Championship as The Rock gets up, wipes the sweat from his stunned faced, and then gets to his feet as he and Cena lock eyes. Cena's music stops. The fans start cheering, chanting "Rocky!" or "Cena sucks!" or "Cena!" or "One More Match!" or whatever they want. Cena extends his hand to The People's Champion. The Rock looks around to the people. Some cheer. Some boo. The Rock, with his typical Rock intensity starts to psyche himself up. "They're gonna fight!" - JBL

The Rock then puts his hand in Cena's and hugs the WWE Champion in a "Thanks for the WrestleMania moment" fashion. The fans that wanted to see them fight boo, the ones that wanted to see them shake hands cheer. The Rock goes to leave and give Cena his moment, Cena then stops The Rock and tells him to pose on the top rope for his fans. The Rock proceeds to think about it and then does so. Cena poses as well and they compare cheers. Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler & JBL talk about how great this WrestleMania has been when BAM! Ambrose, Reigns & Rollins -- having defeated Randy Orton, Sheamus & Big Show earlier in the evening -- are suddenly in the ring, beating the crap out of Cena and Rock.

The fans would be in a frenzy. The fans that hated the "bro moment" are happy that there are some bad-asses there kicking up a storm; the fans that loved it are absolutely shocked their heroes' moment has been ruined. The Shield lays out both Cena and Rock with the Triple Powerbomb. Dean Ambrose then picks up the WWE Championship and admires himself in it. The three men pose, having stolen the WrestleMania moment (it's about them making a name for themselves), when a selection of the babyface roster (Big Show, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Kofi Kingston, R-Truth, Zack Ryder, The Uso's, even Curt Hawkins, etc.) run down to the ring, directed by Brad Maddox and accompanied by Booker T.

The face roster stands in the ring as Ambrose, Reigns & Rollins jump through the crowd -- Ambrose still holding the WWE Championship. WrestleMania closes with the babyfaces standing in the ring tending to the two fallen mega-stars, getting their own moment, as the villains run off with the rightful possession of John Cena.

How does that not direct people to watch RAW the following night? None of the content of Rock vs. Cena changes -- you get the exact same match -- but you also have a story for both of them, and a reason for the fans to fork down money to see two of the biggest babyfaces in WWE history team up to take on The Shield at Extreme Rules in an all-out war. And there the numbers advantage can lead to The Shield getting the victory over Cena & Rock, beating them because Cena & Rock want to prove that they don't need anyone else -- The Shield have become "their problem."

Also lets Cena & Rock get an easy win similar to what they did to Miz and Truth without it being a "Nexus"-damaging moment and treat that as another "throw-a-way" match like Cena had the first time with the group.
It would make sense because Ambrose, Reigns & Rollins are three guys that want the spotlight on them. Why wouldn't they attack the two biggest stars in WWE after they had just wrestled a gruelling match against each other at the biggest show of the year?

Randy Orton could turn heel during the Six-Man Tag Team Match and get the hell out of town before Sheamus & Big Show get their hands on him. The Shield would win that match, and that betrayal by Orton would have allowed The Shield to get away and crash the main event. So even without aligning with The Shield, Orton is still partially responsible for what happens to The Rock and Cena after the main event if it goes down.

If you did have Cena beat The Rock, you could have The Rock go to the back and be the only one attacked. You could have Cena celebrating in the ring as it happens and rush to the back to chase The Shield off. The attack could even happen off-camera and be a WWE.com exclusive feature of "What happened after WrestleMania went off the air?" which would be a huge gamble, but seems like something the WWE could do to try and get their online and exclusive features going. The Rock could take time off while Cena promises us that he would be back in time for Extreme Rules.

46 & 2 does not have that much rep yet (10+)
the shield already fixed "the john cena problem" when they pinned ryback in a 6-man tag at elimination chamber, though.

at least that's the terrible narrative the writers delivered. leading up to EC: "we're going to put an end to all that john cena stands for" - they win that match, then they never mention cena again as he goes right on ahead to headline his 9th consecutive wrestlemania. good job shield, good effort.

It's not just an "I don't like it" factor. I just explained why there's no "oomph" to it. It's a Raw ending. Not an ending to the biggest show of the year. Do it the next night on Raw, whatever. You don't end the biggest show of the year with a repetition of something that's been worn out on free TV already.

That's why there's no "oomph". Like Smelly Meatball said, have Cena turn and join them, THAT'S a different story. That's huge.

And on a personal note, "OMG SHIELD ATTACKED THESE RANDOM MAIN EVENTERS! FEUD TIME!" has gotten boring already. They aren't "fixing injustices" like it was supposed to be. They're generic heel stable attacking faces for the sake of attacking them #393.

For years, legions of wrestling fans around the world watched Hulk Hogan vanquish foes in the ring. Now, you'll go toe-to-toe with this legendary wrestler -- or at least side-by-side -- with this offer: For $162 (regularly $325), get one VIP ticket to "Hulk Hogan Uncensored" on Friday, April 5.

Stopping at The Beacon Theatre for one night only, this intimate show takes you behind the scenes of Hogan's storied career and life. Then, get your best questions ready, because wrestling announcer David Penzer will moderate a Q&A with Hogan himself. After the show is over, you'll even get to meet the Hulk himself, pose for a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity, and score an autograph.

The Shield need no leader. I completely disagree with your summation that it's a "RAW ending." I couldn't disagree more. WrestleMania hasn't ended in chaos for years -- it'd be the appropriate time to do it this year.

Bought a ticket to the Chikara wrestlecon show that Saturday at 4. Mainly because I've seen enough to know it'll be fun but I'd probably never go out of my way to see one if their shows. Plus its almost sold out. Anyway..

To throw in my $0.02 about this whole ending to Wrestlemania scenario, I seriously don't think ending the biggest show of the year with guys like the Usos, Zack Ryder and Justin Gabriel in the ring is what people wanna see.

Think I might start chronicling my girlfriend's thoughts on wrestling. She's kinda picking it up when I'm watching it.

She was a big fan of Punk, but is "disappointed" with him after his heel turn. So, congrats WWE, you're writing works on the uninitiated.

She likes Cena. So, congrats again. Hitting that demographic.

She's not a fan of The Rock. He is "big-headed" and "arrogant". She doesn't like how he refers to himself in the third-person and his teeth are "too white".
