Tom Phillips I could see, but the former NXT wrestler I doubt would work out.

Have you heard Graves on commentary? Genuinely curious.
I really enjoy his work. Part of me wants him to stay on NXT because it's the only weekly show I watch, though haha |

Yikes, didn't even notice Droford said that. I would suggest for the sake of good taste, you may want to delete the post, Dro.

Also would only be a matter of time before Corey Graves becomes terrible via being yelled at in his ear on the main shows.

Anyway this all sounds like par for the course for Lawler.
I grew up with Lawler objectifying women in every single match they were a part of, and I just figured "old pervert" was simply his gimmick. Then eventually I learned about his history. And even in his book he very openly talks about how much he would like to sleep with Trish, Stacy, and others who were around at the time. Like...I get it. Every women's segment back then was based on their looks and sex appeal so his sentiments were probably shared by a large portion of the straight male audience. But it still just struck me as incredibly creepy that he openly wrote about which of his co-workers he wanted to have sex with in is own biography. Especially given that he was old enough to be their fathers and in light of what happened with The Kat. |

I wonder what they thought of it?
If they were creeped out by it or just brushed/laughed it off as "Oh Lalwer " or whatever. |

I guess how he worded it in his book would play a part too.

I read his book, but don't remember that.... The only bit I remember from his book for some reason is a story where he had his limo driver pull over so he could get a BJ from two young lady fans, and that when he got back into the limo, the limo driver was all sweaty and said "Damn Mr. Lawler, if I had two chicks doing that to me, I woulda been done in a few seconds"

This is a sad story. For the sake of King, I hope his account is accurate. It might be time for King to move on to other things anyway. SmackDown could use a fresh voice. I just hope King doesn't leave with a completely ruined reputation and can still host Hall of Fames or whatever. But if he did beat up his girlfriend, I can't feel too sorry for him. He comes from a different age, but he's spent a lot of time in the public light crafting a persona and being around lots of young people. He's had a good opportunity to "mature" with the times.

I wouldn't mind them beginning to phase him out. I'd give him a position as a "Pay Per view Host" for Smackdown and let him drift into retirement. Dropping him at this point though would seem like punishment for something where he wasn't at fault.

Lawler is a lot fresher with Mauro. I don't know how he'd work with Graves also in the booth though. Graves should be in the SmackDown position. Let him and Mauro call Smackers and maybe keep Mauro and King call Main Event or whatever they tape before SmackDown. Maybe give King his own talk show or interview segment when they expand SmackDown to three hours, because short-term. He can still host the Hall of Fame and be a talking head.

Jerry Lawler traveling around in a car with Mean Gene Okerlund would be a pretty funny show on WWE Network actually.

King could head up a new developmental project in Memphis too. Not on the same scale as NXT, but just a place some of the kids can go to learn to throw a punch.
