I miss CM Punk
There, I said it!
I know he's pretty much burned his bridges at this point with most people, but he was the first guy since Austin and Rock that I really "got behind" |

Agree completely. Outside of Bryan he was by far the biggest star we've seen since the rise of Cena. In fact he and Bryan should have been the Rock and Stone Cold of this generation in a perfect world (not in terms of character but in terms of position on the card.)
He could return someday MAYBE, but I'm not holding my breath. If it ever does happen it'll definitely be waaaay down the line as stated already. |

Too big and chip on his shoulder to get behind for me. Always seemed very irritable and prickly. Mind you, that might have been a symptom of his environment.
I wasn't a massive fan, but the one thing I liked was that he was unapologetic and his own man. The reason why Roman Reigns struggles is because he is an obvious, cookie cutter, machine produced, corporate face. People got behind Punk because he was real. It was his personality, his look, his music and it was on his terms. It's much easier to but into someone like that and Indefinitely miss having someone like that around. |

I think Punk had every right to have a chip on his shoulder, considering he was well aware that initially, the powers that be were pretty much hoping he would fail.
Vince McMahon gets a lot of shit, but it seems pretty obvious to me that Punk eventually "won him over" and Vince pushed him and put some faith in Punk. |

He's as bitter as bret so I doubt we see him until he's super washed up and im not sure if he will really have a legacy so in 15 years or so Im not sure anyone will care enough to bring him back.

He will put out feelers in the hopes of getting a part time, per appearance deal at some point. Depends on how this lawsuit ends up. He has not one, but two potential paychecks (AJ) waiting if they clear the air. With all the things various people have said about wwf/e and Vince himself and still managed to mend fences and come back, I don't see how anyone can definitively say that too many bridges have been burned.

If I had to bet money if he goes back to wrestling it'll be for NJPW if they get set up with something in America. He's the one wrestler they could probably sign that would get them major buzz. They could afford to pay him whatever they needed in order to get NJPW:USA off the ground.
He ain't going to TNA, LU or ROH. |

At this point he really doesn't need it. A return to the Wwe would be ego driven... elsewhere I might not question it as much.
Considering his weight he could show up in the cruiserweight division |

Meh. Never really liked CM Punk and his long WWE Championship reign was the last time I quit watching WWE for a bit. He was one of the better guys on the mic and has enough balls to go off script is about the only things I liked about him. I did like the Straight Edge Society as well.

I miss CM Punk as well. His feuds and storylines were made to feel like/seemed like "big deals" even after he lost the WWE title. He never felt like an "afterthought" that was put in stories just to keep him busy...... more like they were always thinking "we need to feature CM Punk".....
Probably not explaining this well..... In any case, I'm sure if he stuck around longer the bad writing would have eventually had him just in filler stories and bad spots...... |

I know he got his ass kicked but hearing Cult of Personality and seeing him come down to the Octagon was the sports moment of the year for me.

CM Punk...ugh, it's an odd one.
At the time he was around, I championed him, but during that long-ass WWE Title run, I wasn't really that enthralled. Remember when Daniel Bryan was put in main event WWE Title matches against him in 2013. It didn't really make sense in light of the brand split, but it also didn't really get me all bonerfied as much as it should have. Going back, I realize that Punk is a terrible babyface. His 2009 heel work against Jeff Hardy was fantastic, but I never really got into too much else. Triple H probably should have turned heel in 2011 and been the Vince to his Austin, but things would never really "click" as well as they could have. It seemed like the moment he was actually going to get a more "he's an actual main eventer" push was when he was penciled in to face Triple H instead of Daniel Bryan which would have sucked. Punk left just before he would have become what he hated. That being said, I think he will be back one day, and when he is he'll be treated as a bigger star than he ever was when he was there and will do the part-time thing. They're going to need those sorts of "quick fixes" since they can't get full-time guys over these days. He might even get a Royal Rumble win and WrestleMania main event moment. If he sticks to his guns, I could see him in New Japan or doing commentary for certain shows. |
