Josh Hamilton's huge night was the big story, but also, Carlos Beltran hit 2 Home Runs. He's really making life without Pujols really good for St Louis and the Cardinals. He's producing.

Lot of people in Baltimore want Hamilton for the Os next year, but if they sign him to some monster contract he'll probably fall off the wagon and never hit 4 homers in a season for them.

Votto-Hamilton-Bruce would be a pretty decent 3-4-5 lineup

All I can really say is WOW!!!! This guy might have had some drinking problems but he was great as Andrus's Designated Driver last night.
*Rim Shot* But, seriously I always loved this guy. It couldn't have happened to a greater guy. I always have felt so bad for him because he has so much potential and if it weren't for his drugs and Alcohol problems at the beginning of his career I believe he could have had more potential then he does right now. This guy is a very, very, very, special kind of hitter. |

Red Sox public address announcer at Fenway Park died in a car accident.
Apparently though the red Sox bigger news of the day is that Beckett played golf while he was supposedly hurt. |

PA guy
Not surprised Beckett is being a dumbass again considering he's the one who threw a fit when last year's beer and chicken story broke out and then follows up by lashing out at Bobby V when the ban was in place. I think this year was a rare Spring Training where he didn't have a huge "beer gut" but replaced that with always having an excuse to why he stunk for a game. Supposedly he never bothered to tell Bobby V of his "soreness" until a few days before his start and Bobby V didn't even bother to deal with him for his next start since he knew something was up. |

Simple answer is he stopped being devoted to baseball after 2007 or 2008 because that is when the tradition of him arriving at Spring Training with a massive beer gut started. Hasn't had ace status for maybe the last 3 years in favor of Lester.

I wonder if the Sox are gonna trade Beckett at the Deadline. This reminds me of Manny Ramirez's last days in Boston. The Sox could probably still get a good player or two for him.

I wonder if the Dodgers would be interested. I'm sure a sit-down with Magic Johnson would do Beckett good.

Twins banish Frankie Liriano to bullpen and send 3B Danny Valencia down to Triple-A.
I know the the twinkies are in a big time rebuilding phase after last season's disaster, but Gardenhire got 1 more season on his contract. Anybody think he's going to last this season? I like the guy as much as the next baseball fan, and he's given everything for that franchise. But I got a feeling he's gonna be made the goat in this. |

Colby lewis settled down..gave up 3 straight Homers to start the game (Os first AL Team to do that ever) and has now gotten 18 straight outs.

then he gives up 2 more Homers in the 7th.
Good stat: only allow 5 hits Bad Stat: all 5 hits = homers Roch Kubatko @masnRoch Lewis only 2nd pitcher since 1918 to have every hit off him be a HR, minimum 5. Charlie Hough did it on June 24, 1989. Last edited by Droford; 05-10-2012 at 06:14 PM. |

It's a great opportunity for Guerrero. Playing alongside Bautista, who knows if he'll get back to his old hitting self? That stadium in Toronto is great to hit in.
Also, those Blue Jays uniforms are some of the best in baseball. |

Jays are apparently talking to the Phillies about a trade involving Hamels and Victorino.
