It is just the concept of it I guess. Like, maybe time spent on that (which truth be told, is most likely a simplified input mapped to the full input via a macro) could be used elsewhere.

I don't know. Not getting this game anytime soon anyway.

Mortal Kombat is terrible! Stop buying it it is just the same thing over and over just acouple new characters and maps. Buy a better game like Call of Duty Advanced Warfare or something like that!

Not how it works. Work on making DLC isn't diverted production. It's decided after principle assets are decided. Not doing this easy fatality thing would not mean more launch content.

While people are getting pissed at easy commands, I didn't forget that this game has Jason and Predator coming. I have perspective.

Apparently the PC version is a mess at the moment. Partially due to High Voltage Software likely doing a shoddy port and partially due to Valve's debut of a new pre-loading system completely fell apart.

Valve's new system is meant to mimic what's done on the PS4 where only 3 GB of the game is required at first and then the rest downloads in the background. Instead what happened was the game either never downloads the rest or the wrong stuff got downloaded first making the game crash constantly.

Seems like the PS4 version also has region locking for game servers. Doesn't seem like the Xbox One has that issue although most of the talk has been about the PS4 and PC version at the moment.

PC issues seem to be more of Netherealm's and High Voltage Software's problem than Valve's. Supposedly they broke it down into too many individual sections and gets read more like how DLC packs install than a normal PC/PS4 installation.

While it is no doubt ridiculous to pay for something like that, it probably isn't any moreso than using a Codebreaker or GameShark to activate 1-button fatalities at the end of matches.

Paying for an x amount as opposed to having it as a feature that could be toggled in the game through the use of a code/password or unlocking the ability to have easy fatalities is pretty lame, though.

People losing their shit over this game and shouting "SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS" and "FEMINAZIS" at netherealm.

Lot of people saying that the female characters being modestly dressed is pandering to feminists and their supporters which is just completely retarded. Last game most of the women looked like generic warrior strippers. Now they have much cooler looking, more detailed outfits, but that's no good because NEED MORE BEWBS. Fucking mutants.

Second, and bigger shitstorm is a very minor spoiler for Kung Jin

It's never outright said, but implied that Kung Jin is gay. I don't know, I haven't played it yet. This has caused all the overreacting homophobe space cadets to shit their pants and shout that NRS is pandering to gays and social justice warrior. Because one gay dude equals an agenda. Gay people exist. Stands to reason a person in a videogame could be gay. Who fucking cares? The religious fantatics apparently, because they've been coming out of the woodwork.

I wasn't going to get really into online play. I was only going to play with friends. Now I'm going to practice the shit out of this game. I am going to try to become better at this game than I've ever been at any other fighting game.

And I'm going to main Kung Jin. And I'm going to body all these stupid ridiculous mutie fucks that I can find.

Eventhubs and SRK are a community of fighting gamers, of course. When you're concerned with elements outside of the point of a game, you tend to harp about bullshit. This is true with gamers and reviewers alike.

Didn't take long but a modder managed to make several of the unplayable characters in the story mode become playable fighters. Involved tricking the game into thinking a regular character is being used and porting their movesets.

Not a fan on the official fight pad. Feels like I really gotta mash the buttons in order for the commands to go through. Was hoping I could use my Street Fighter 4 fight pad, but it's not compatible.


Pre-ordered the Hori one off of Amazon. Looks more sturdy and the buttons go deeper.

I wasn't going to get really into online play. I was only going to play with friends. Now I'm going to practice the shit out of this game. I am going to try to become better at this game than I've ever been at any other fighting game.

And I'm going to main Kung Jin. And I'm going to body all these stupid ridiculous mutie fucks that I can find.

Between this and some asshole threatening developers because Reiko isn't in the game MKX is just making me hate gamers.

It's just sad.

If you got MK9, better off just sticking with that for the time being until the online portion gets ironed out.

While I'm all for the faction warfare and being able to play as Goro, the online servers have been acting up as of late and you might not be able to get in sometimes and get a few matches in or take part in invasions. Kicker is, the bulk of the achievements/trophies are online based.

To sum up: buy with caution, Duke.

PS4 version currently dealing with a game breaking bug called "CE-34878-0" which is mostly messing up online play for the game. Some warnings regarding the quick fix since it can lead to saves being deleted or corrupted as a side effect.

Thanks for the advice, I haven't played the franchise since Deadly Alliance. I think MKX would be a great way to get back into it. Even though I'm not going online, I will heed your warnings.

Ed Boon teased at the possibility of unplayable characters shown during the game's story mode arriving in the future as DLC packs although not as part of the game's Season Pass.

I would say so. It's not like other fighting games where it's almost all multiplayer content. The story mode in each game is quite long, and very fun.

On top of that, there is a traditional arcade mode with endings for each character. Then there's the challenge tower stuff.

So yeah, both games offer plenty of content to warrant a purchase even if you're not going online.

Like I said though, get MK9 first. The story mode in 10 is a direct continuation of the story mode in 9, so you'll likely be lost if you go right to 10. 9 is still a lot of fun though, and you can get the Komplete edition which has all the dlc in it for 20 bucks now.
