After 2 hours of rain delay, the Red Sox/Yankees game is about to start.
Bunch of bullshit. Selig needs to address that..... |

Besides the HRs, Lester pitched good today and a lot better than previous games. CC still on a bad run against the Red Sox.
According to trade rumors from CBS and ESPN, Red Sox tried to trade both Carl Crawford to Miami and Beckett to Boston but the Miami deal fell apart (would have gotten Reyes) and Texas didn't want him even if it would have been really cheap. The team actually wants Crwford gone more than Beckett due to his lack of production compared to what they paid for. |

Han-Ram is looking niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. Him, Kemp and Ethier could be scary. And from what I'm reading, Dodgers aren't done dealing...

I love that Simmons and JackO were making fun of the Gonzalez trade, saying how the Red Sox fleeced the Padres for Gonzalez, and how you wouldn't be telling your grand kids about how you saw Anthony Rizzo play.

Red Sox were pretty stacked at the 1B position before his trade even at the minors level so the trade at the time did seem like the Red Sox won easily. He wasn't the top prospect in the trade (Casey Kelly was while Rizzo was ranked 3rd). The issue with Rizzo was his power was full of raw potential but not consistent enough like with the issue of Lars Anderson who is another power hitter the Sox has and also plays 1st base.
A-Gon was meant more to replace Manny's numbers and help protect Ortiz's numbers from dropping more after Manny left. Now the trade looks a lot worse mostly because Rizzo's revival with the Cubs and A-Gon struggling a bit. Padres probably regret trading him as well even though the guy who traded for him now works for the Cubs which is how they got him. |

Ciriaco is slowly becoming a little Yankee killer since he's been responsible for their 3 wins against them this year.
Doubront pitched well and has done a great job against the Yankees this year while Aceves blew another save against them but rebounded good enough to secure the win. |

I think Reggie Jackson, Johnny Bench, and Tom Seaver were all rookies the same year. If so, that's a trio that's pretty hard to beat.

I hope so. I wanna go to a postseason game this year.
In 2010 I had tickets for every game of the NLCS, but then they got swept by the Phillies in the first round. I deserve nice things! |

I know, pisses me off how many Rays fan don't even care before late August/September.
It's actually sad when you go to the Trop, and you see how empty it is. Sad and embarrassing. |

The Trop isn't horrible, TBH. It does appear that way on tv, but when you go to a game, it's not that bad.
I've always been a little "irked" that the Diamondbacks (who debuted alongside the Rays in 1998) got an All Star Game, along with other stadiums that were built later than that, but the Rays never held one. But I just think that there's no way a Home Run Derby could be held in there since most likely balls would be ricocheting off the catwalks and just mess up the whole thing. |

Apparently the Cubs removed Geovanni Soto and Reed Johnson, meaning they've been traded.
Where? Not known at this moment. |
