- Shane is God.
- Glenn put that chick in her place. He's awesome.
- The end of the Sophia arc was kind of heavy, though expected a few seconds before the reveal. I like how all the tough moves was reversed when Rick's people, for a moment, understood Hershel's argument.
- All this talk about Rick being a pussy this and that, and he ends the episode same as he started the show - having the conviction to put down a child walker. Shane has the moves but Rick is a leader.
- Carl is coming closer to his badass comic self. He will be the best of Rick and Shane, I think.
- Hershel's gonna need to answer for keeping Sophia without saying a thing. Surely he knew the zombie girl and the missing Sophia were the same.
- Great episode.
- Shane is God.

On the issue of spoilers: The show barely followers the comic. In fact it can give a fuck about the comic. So mentioning things from the book doesn't mean much. And even when I mention something I keep it vague.

The look in Rick's eyes when he walked up to Sophia...chills. Just chills. Goddamn, Andrew Lincoln. And Jon Bernthal leading them to the barn is Emmy material, straight up.

I'm really not sure if Herschel knew he had Sophia in there. I think there's evidence for him knowing and him not knowing.

I don't think you can accurately judge how much it's following the comics based on 12 episodes. I would say it's probably about 60/40 in favour of the comics right now. And based on interviews I've read with the creators, it sure seems like they plan on hitting some of the comic's big narrative beats in later eps. Read an interview with Robert Kirkman and he said we'll be meeting some new characters almost immediately when the show comes back.

Also, wtg Chandler Riggs. One of the best actors on the show. Really doing well with avoiding the TV kid cliches.

One of the writers said that Hershel "probably" didn't know. He mentioned in the last episode that Otis used to wrangle up the zombies. So there is a good chance Otis wrangled her and stuck her in the barn. By the time they mentioned they were looking for a little girl, Otis had already been killed.

The show veers a good distance away by eps two. General stuff like setting (barn and soon the prison) remains, but this is not following the comic.

Wasn't Herschel trying to keep the barn a secret though? If he didn't want the entire group knowing he kept walkers, it would kind of make sense for him to keep quiet about Sophia. Especially since once the whole group found out they ended up massacring all of them.

As far as the Sophia storyline goes, I think it was brilliant now that all is said and done. Sure, hearing her mother whine was annoying at times, but her going missing set up so many character arcs and new relationships.

Lori is skank meat though and if she does get eaten I will be very happy.
