I really wouldn't mind seeing Chavo vs. MVP at the Smackdown tapings.

And then maybe Punk vs. Tommy Dreamer on ECW tonight.

I'm gonna be completely honest, I'm definitely going to watch tonight but as a fan and a human being I know I'm gonna have a hard time enjoying wrestling or thinking about anything else pertaining to it while watching it for a long time, if not always... it's truly a much different situation than Eddie or Owen...

That's a really great idea. It'll be a nice little change for once.... to see just matches.

All Benoit merchandise has been removed from WWE.com. As his name in the WMXX match listing. Considering WWE 'has more information' but was asked not to release it by the police, seems to confirm Benoit is guilty.

Add to that Summerslam 2004. Also everything apart from the main story has now gone from the WWE homepage too.

I'm glad they're giving the crew a break from reworking the storylines. I don't know what the hell to think about this whole situation still. It looks more and more like he did it, I'll wait on final judgement until they release everything from their investigation. I hope, if he did it, it was a mental health issue and was not himself. I DON'T however, consider drug abuse (i.e. roids) to be a mental health issue that can redeem him. Drug abuse is SELF INFLICTED. It would have to be something he had no control over to substantiate anything.

some people are unreal. I'm happy to have the TPWW community for all of this. Most people dont understand or care on the level we do. Again, I stress that we didn't know the people involved or directly effected, but it hits closer to us than most.
Everyone here seems to be on the same page as me, and very respectful. You guys are legit great.

I don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but if steroids are involved, aside from the obvious destruction of his family, he has also dealt a swift blow to professional wrestling in general. In the US right now steroid investigations are running rampant through sports, and nobody has killed anybody because of it. NOW, you've got this kind of rogue-sport entertainment company that has no respect from the mass media anyway with a worker who snapped and killed his family under the influence of steriods. This could potentially destroy the WWE and professional wrestling altogether. At the very least it is going to have it severely punished and diminished, and set back a number of years.

Regal got me more than anybody. I dont remember his quote exactly but he was saying something like "I'm supposed to come out here and tell you what a wonderful guy Chris was. But, I can't really do that right now. All I can see is he was a hard worker, the hardest worker in this business. I can't say anything else". Malenko seemed to focus on his in-ring life rather than his personal life too.

On a related, and unimportant note, this will probably effect the creative direction. I wouldn't be suprised to see larger "roided out" wrestlers de-emphasized or depushed in favor of a more natural look. Similar to what they went to with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels after the steroid scandal of the early 90s, before which names like Hogan, Macho Man and Ultimate Warrior were the image the product pushed.

Yeah, it goes with the whole "WWE.com has more information but can't release it now" deal. I think they knew then what we are being told now, in tiny pieces, and that it was hard for them to seperate what they should and shouldn't say. Austin, Stephanie, and Edge didn't have that same quality, and HHH only sort of did.

Yeah, I was thinking that too.

That and people weren't crying the way they did with Eddie and Owen. There everyone was openly weeping and couldn't keep things together. Here, they were visably shaken, and sadden...but it wasn't the same.

Well, if the effect is limited to that then maybe Chris did us a favor. But I am really scared for professional wrestling right now with the state of steroids in sports in America.

Jeritron, you may be right about that. It might be good in a way to de-emphasize the roided workers.

Apparently Cena doesn't do steroids, so unfortunately he'd still be in the ME scene.

Sorry, had to make a joke to lighten the mood a little. No disrespect intended.

I missed Regal's speech. That's pretty bad.

I noticed how much Malenko mentioned his in ring stuff. Didn't really think much into it

Chavo was a full on about how great he was though, in ring and out so fuck knows.

I haven’t seen the show yet, but I’m a bit confused about why they had CM Punk talk about him, but didn’t try to get some words from someone like Rey

No disrespect to Punk or anything, but they had only been on the same show for 2 weeks, Rey had known him for 15 years

Can someone let me know what HHH said? I missed a good portion of the show because after finding out the news I went to a friends show to watch the rest, and the power actually went out for a while.

any links to the interviews, or just some run downs of the Chavo, Malenko, Edge and HHH interviews...I'd appreciate it.
I saw the rest.

I totally didn't think about the possibility of murder-suicide until I heard Regal's speech. And I thought, "Jesus, I hope he didn't kill his family. He (regal) wouldn't even talk about his character."

This is bizzare that all of a sudden the guy i've rooted for, for years is not such a great guy after all. There has to be more to this story. There has to be something that the wrestlers were aware of that built to this moment. This didnt just happen. I truely doubt this was roid rage. Judging by some of the comments last night like Regals. It seems to me that maybe Benoit wasnt a good guy and everyone around him knew it but we didnt. Who knows. This is nuts. I've actually gotten over the initial shock of my favorite wrestler being dead and now i'm really curious what the fuck happend and what led to this.

Rey might not have wanted to. Punk might have requested it, since like he said, he felt bad about what happened Sunday.

God, I feel sorry for Nitro right now. He just became a World Champion on the back of this horrifying turn of events. How shitty must that feel.
