Why?
So, every couple of years I've notice that WWE does this and think TNA does it as well. but I've noticed that recently after a ppv on Monday night raw instead of showing the replay of an incident (I.E. a title switching hands or controversy during a match) instead of showing the replay of what happened they show the still frame and sounds of the replay. why do they do this? and sometimes they show the replays every other year . Am I the only person that notice that

They do it because they want people to buy the replay on PPV.

Without any sort of reference point (even though I know what you're talking about), it's hard to say exactly why they sometimes will show the entire incident as opposed to the teaser still shots. Maybe it has something to do with being something that would take too much to "explain" in a "why I/he/they did what they did" promo than it would to just show the damn thing. Maybe they made a metric ton of money on that PPV (well... WWE, anyway), and can afford to let the full video fire off.
But that's nothing. It's not as crazy as the making with the black & white when someone is "busted open" like it's the most gruesome sight ever and all that blood just needs to be censored... but then, 10 minutes after the replay, someone would be bloodied on the live broadcast with no thought about it. I mean, I'm glad they didn't go overboard with the censoring (such make the show in progress go b&w, digitally blur the blood, or cutting segments entirely), but I never understood how one is so much "worse" than the other. |

I never understood it either, especially if it is a raw recap and it is still photos with the audio from the incident. Stupid.
Just like showing the bored crowd when there is a backstage happening on the tron. Also stupid. |

They do it to keep the business serious. Now I'm debating as to whether or not this should be a tatanka thread.

The reason why is because there's a longstanding agreement with the PPV companies not to show any real amount video footage of the event for the first seven days afterwards, because replay buys used to be a massive thing.
