That's more or less the way I feel, I mean I like both Leben and Bisping but I just can't get too excited for two guys fighting that aren't even Top 20 in their division.

Bis ping has been very exciting at 185. Leben is usually willing to bang, so it sounds like a good fight to me. I think Bisping is definately a top 20 guy right now, and he's just getting started at 185. Not sure how he will fare against the elite guys at that weight, but the fight is intriguing to me.

Rest of the card looks solid as well, especially considering its free.

Jardine today announced the fight on an Albuquerque radio show.

The light heavyweight bout will likely end up on the night's main card, which currently features a headline bout between Michael Bisping and Chris Leben.

However, the UFC has yet to announce the fight.

Jardine most recently suffered a stunning, 36-second knockout to Wanderlei Silva at UFC 84. The loss came right after the biggest win of his career -- a split-decision victory over Chuck Liddell in September 2007.

With a May 2007 loss to Houston Alexander, the Team Jackson fight has now lost two of his past three fights -- the first such stretch of his seven-year career.

Vera, meanwhile, will look to shake a recent three-fight funk. After a unanimous-decision loss to Tim Sylvia at UFC 77, Vera then suffered a first-round TKO to Fabricio Werdum at UFC 85. He then decided to drop to 205 pounds, and though he scored a unanimous-decision victory over UFC newcomer Reese Andy at this past weekend's UFC Fight Night 14, the performance was flat and heavily criticized.

The fight with Jardine is essentially a must-win for Vera, a former top heavyweight contender who had, at one time, been promised a title shot with then-champ Tim Sylvia, but a feud with his manager kept the fight from happening. Since returning from that year-long layoff, Vera -- who began his UFC career with four consecutive stoppage victories -- has posted three lackluster performances.
I hope Vera looks better than that last outting..

Elite XC Saturday Night Fights 2

Some pretty decent fights.. I flipped back and forth between it and the UFC Penn vs Sherk PPV.. Lawler/Smith was def the fight of the night.. Vicious body shots and then knees from Lawler.. Diaz looked methodical in his striking.. What was up with that one guys total neck beard.. Weird..

Also, Gina was SMOKING FUCKING HOTTTTTTT in her interview..

This show was much better than their first IMO..

Did anyone watch the replay of UFC 84 Penn vs Sherk last night??

It was really sweet how UFC recut the footage and added in the behind the scenes shit pre and post fights.. I hope they consider doing this for every PPV say three weeks after they happen.. So like, they could air the recut PPV a week before the next PPV..

Due to a discussion about the UFC Lightweight Title and then some research, I found out that it has never changed hands due to a challenger beating a champion.. It's always been vacated.. With Penn beating Sherk, it's the first time since Jens Pulver that there's been an undisputed LW Champ..

Just thought that was weird..

Wait I think i see what ur saying... Technically it still hasnt been taken away from a champion yet. The belt was vacated again when BJ won it and Sherk was not any type of champion when he fought BJ, so he was only a challenger.

Definitely going Vegas next May and I know Fritz is going. Hopefully Dickerman and Vito too.

I'm not on the BTR board now but they were cool as fuck on that when it was the old board too. And the Properly Promoted board. Loose Cannon and Cynick have both posted there too.

“Me going to somewhere else is 100% happening,” said Ortiz.

Atencio hopes to have announcement next week confirming the second show and main events of its card.

“I hate to use the phrase ‘up in the air,’ but it’s in the works is a better term,” Atencio says.
