Pretty crazy idea but I think it would work.
Watched some mid ninties WWE and I know he's old but still in fantastic shape, but I think Bob Backlund in his Mr.Backlund character would get over big time today. Maybe he could manage, fuck I'm all for a short run as a wrestler. I fucking love that character and hated him growing up. Had no idea when i was young that he was the second longest WWF champion. Totally going all DLVH84 here I know.

One of my fav VHS's to watch as a youngling was Survivor Series 94. Loved Bob Backlund vs. Bret Hart.
Backlund just seemed so different and out of his mind. I think he could make a good manager if he reels it in a bit from seemingly going crazy for real. Bo Dallas would be a good fit. |

So dumb that they sewered him and Bret at WM 11 with that idiotic match when they had such great chemistry together otherwise.
The guy is just out there and all sorts of fun, I would support this idea to the max. I most likely could wrestle for a bit too because he's pretty much a beacon of health and fitness, old school steez. |

Would be great as a manager and also like the idea of him managing Bo as a possibility.

I'd imagine the Mr. Bob Backlund stuff he could do with Zeb Coulter.

You're not going DLVH on us.
Backlund isn't japanese. You, my friend, are going Seth82 on us. |

In fact I'd prefer the older veterans not tarnish their legacy by making fools of themselves on national tv. Bob Backlund never did a thing for me. In fact he was a boring champion imo. Its too bad people ran off DLVH. He was incredibly knowledgeable. |

He could have a 5 star classic with Bobby Eaton.

I can see him with Ziggler to be honest. I think it would be pretty great. Ziggler could use the chickenwing as opposed to the sleeper

Would actually like to see Bob Backlund manage Heath Slater for some weird reason. Especially if Slater adds a Crossface Chickenwing finish to his matches. Keep the Smash Hit, but just have him use it when the Chickenwing is scouted by an opponent too well.
The Bo Dallas thing would be cool too. Have Backlund do both and just keep Dallas and Slater separate, except for the occasion tag team match, but make it seem like a special thing when they do team. |
