IC Champ & WWF Champ vs. WWF Tag Champs - all titles on the line. What a fuckin cool ass concept.

You know, we all talk about how differently we wish the Invasion was booked, but things were so epic at this point I flat out wish it didn't happen.
Maybe a few years down the line, but they had such an epic roster and so many guys worthy of elevating. There were storylines and fueds for years, and the heights they were elevating the titles and divisions too were insane. I used to always harp that I wanted the Invasion to happen but be better. Now I just wish it didn't happen. |

They had already acquired ECW anyways so RVD and Dreamer would have been debuting soon. I'd rather just see what they had going on at this point continue, and maybe an ECW storyline, but not much more.
Sure, there were some great pickups but those could have happened down the line anyways. |

Jericho would have been the next big push, and gotten the attention he deserved. Angle would have been continually elevated. Same with Benoit. Even Kane could have gotten a run finally. There were plenty of other potential guys to push, like Rhyno and Raven, and the singles careers of E&C Jeff and Matt. I'm also almost positive WWF would have tried like hell to get Booker and a few others from WCW anyways. |

I know. I want to watch everything from this time frame. Then I want to get in a time machine and stop it from ending, to see what it would have been like when RVD and Champion Jericho were thrown into the mix.

How many guys have won the IC title after winning the World/WWE title? HHH, Flair, Kane...?

I wish it happened more often. Not in such a "we're demoting you" way, but in a "this title isn't the world title, but it means a shitlaod too" type of way.
Kind of like here. It didn't seem like a step down for HHH and Kane, because it was more of a step up for the title. If they kept it that way, and former champions like HHH, Kane and Angle were trading the belt around, it them would have meant more when non-former champions were winning it here and there (before they had been elevated). Sort of like the US title in WCW. Even with all the stuff they did wrong, the US title always was pretty high in stature. Guys like Bret, Sting and DDP were always fueding for it between world title programs.

What an awesome match. I miss the days when you truly didn't know who would in. Those days are few and far between now.
