Cowboys try out such luminaries as David Carr, Tyler Thigpen, and John Skelton. Sign Jon Kitna.

Still reading reports flat out saying "Romo will not be playing this Sunday" and equally as many reports saying he could play. No idea what to believe.

Vince Young said he was ready to be a QB for the Texans this year too. I wonder if Drew Bledsoe can still throw the ball? Would be poetic justice for him losing his job undeservedly to Tony Homo.

There's not nearly enough Brett Favre talk going on right now. When I searched Google News for his name, I was sure I'd find at least one random article on him coming back.

Considering the potential ramifications both professionally and personally for the coaches and staff of the Dallas Cowboys, I'd imagine it will be a game day decision whether or not Romo plays. If he does play with a herniated disc that needs surgery, then I will never say another bad thing about Tony Romo and the medical staff for the Cowboys (and NFL officials) should be ashamed for putting him at such risk if this information is known.

Jerry Jones Guarantees The coaching staff's job security, then fires them all within the same year ending press conference this coming Monday or Tuesday.

Kinda worried that this gives an excuse for Dallas to lose and the coaching staff to keep their jobs.

Love Tony Gonzalez. Shame he never got to play in the Super Bowl, but that shouldn't diminish his excellent career. Glad he at least got to experience a playoff win last year.
He hasn't ruled out that he could get the itch next year and come out of retirement again, but did say that there is no way he is playing a full season. Said the only circumstance where he would even consider returning is if the Falcons or Chiefs were clearly primed for a playoff run and one of the teams had a need to fill at tight end. |

There are 64 possible outcomes for the 6 meaningful games but some of them would definitely lead to the same playoff seeding since not every team still alive has a chance at every seed. |

In fact, look at the chart. The first and third possibilities show the exact same seeding. And again with the second and fourth.

Tomorrow is fucking batshit insane with all of these important games. Can't believe the 9ers can still win the division. I need Jeff Fisher to do me this favor. Please, Jeff.

Meanwhile, Arizona could actually be pretty scary if they can make it into the playoffs. Especially if Carson Palmer can limit himself to turning the ball over only once or twice a game.
Playoffs or not, if they win tomorrow, they've gotta be the "sneakiest" 11 win team in NFL history. |

I would not be surprised if Arizona knocked off the Niners tomorrow, seeing as how they've been on a rampage. Hopefully 9ers front 7 can cause Palmer to make mistakes. He's already a bit prone to tossing picks.
If 9ers win the division somehow tomorrow I am going to have diarrhea. |

I wish they moved the Saints/Bucs to the early game so we'd know if it's worth anything or not.
But then again playing simultaneously might provide more drama. Whatever. |

I'm kind of torn on this Eagles/Cowboys game now. Obviously I hate both teams and I'm hoping whoever wins gets bounced out next week. Initially I was leaning towards hoping for an Eagles win because the prospect of seeing Dallas lose the NFC East deciding game in Week 17 for the third year in a row against a third different division rival seemed too hilarious to pass up.
But with Dallas not having Romo now and nobody really thinking they have a chance in hell, them losing wouldn't even be that funny. The Eagles could be in a situation where they might be peaking at the right moment which could propel them deep into the playoffs. Dallas on the other hand I can't see getting out of the first round with Orton and that defense. Would seem they're far less of a threat. Also, Dallas making the playoffs probably ensures Garrett's job security and much of the coaching staff. So given that I'll probably have to, reluctantly, pull for Dallas. |

Rooting for:
Bucs Packers Cardinals Cowboys So the first round would be AZ vs DAL and SF vs GB And I guess the Ravens for the last AFC spot |
