I bet they still have that gay rule where if your team is playing when there's a Fox game on, but your team's game isn't the Fox game, then your game can't be televised.

Spring training games got underway today. Yankees beat the Phillies. D-Backs spilt the team up and they're taking on the Giants and Rockies today. Boston annihilated Northeastern today 25-0. That game went 7 innings.

lol wow...the Mets have only practiced and played intrasquad games thus far and they're already dropping like flies. Several of their top prospects have gotten hurt already. David Wright is sidelined with a ribcage injury. Scott Hairston re-injured the same oblique that ended his season early last year, espectations are that he'll miss Opening Day thereby weakening what was already the worst bench in the Majors.
Worse than all that though, Ike Davis apparently has Valley Fever. He's been cleared to play for now, but if it takes the turn for the worse it can be horrible. Conor Jackson had it in 2009 and missed pretty much the entire season, and his career was derailed as a result. Death, taxes, and unbelievable Mets health issues. lolMets |

1st game in the annual Mayor's Cup between Red Sox and Twins ends up in a Sox victory.
Usually don't care that much about Spring Training games and more about nobody getting injured or struggling with hitting/pitching that it cares over into the regular season. |

Pirates re-sign McCutchen for 6 years.
You mean to tell me they knew they had a good player and actually resigned him. Long-term even. I think the Mayans were right. This is the freakin end of the World here fellas. |

I liked him a lot more than Dice-K although probably the best move for him to do.
After first 1-2 years of being great on the Red Sox, he just randomly started to struggle for no real reason. The worst was his sudden loss of control of his pitches and falling apart if there was even 1 guy on base when he entered a game. |

Four LA Dodgers players, each of whom is the son of a former major leaguer, combined to hit for the cycle together during the sixth inning of today's game. Tony Gwynn Jr. (son of MLB hall-of-famer Tony Gwynn) singled and stole second, Justin Sellers (son of Jeff Sellers) doubled him in, Ivan DeJesus Jr. (son of Ivan DeJesus) tripled him in, and Scott Van Slyke (son of former all-star Andy Van Slyke) hit a two-run homer to finish off the stat sheet.

Two questions: -How long do you think the fans on the road keep it up? (IE does it go through the season?) -Does the booing effect him in any way, like it did Rafael Palmiero? |

Gotta go sit in the first row between 1B and RF today to see the REDS. Yuck. At least I get to see Ichiro. Who the hell even knows who plays RF for the Reds. Guess I should look it up. |

Yup. This is the life.
No Votto or Bruce though. Maybe tomorrow. There's always tomorrow. That's the great thing about living here, theres always another day to see soneone. Know what I'm saying? Theoretically, I could spend this entire month following the Reds. But my god, who would want to put themselves through all that torture? |

He's not bad. Supposed to be the starting LF this year over Ludwick.
Strikes out too much but other than that he's decent. |

Even if it is only spring, it was great to see Johan on the mound in a game again. Looked comfortable. Dickey already has his knuckler in mid-season form too. Baseball.

The only team I would root to win the Series besides the Yankees would be the Cubs, just to see what the hell happens to Chicago.

Very glib. You didnt answer my question though. Ive been to Great American before so I guess I could simply say that all Reds fans think they are smarter than they actually are.
Ill tell you this though. There are stark differences between some of the people who go to Wrigley Field, and actual Cubs fans. If some dumbass in a Sosa or Prior jersey who couldnt tell you who started yesterdays game talked shit to you at some point, it happens everywhere. Sorry you got made fun of. In Dusty we trusty. |

meh. Cubs fans get crapped on alot, and dont have winning baseball to rest thier laurels on. Some of the doucheness seen at Wrigley comes out of frustration. Now that the team is going to suck balls for at least 2 years, the quality of fans attending games will be better.

Your boys looked like little leaguers out there, Supreme. And then I realized they were for the most part and there were only like 2 starters playing. One guy lost it in the sun (was pretty funny because he yelled at the top of his lungs "I CAN'T SEE IT" and the entire stadium heard him), one guy tripped over himself going for a routine fly ball, the second basemen didn't cover first on a bunt, and then Ichiro was on 1st and someone else was on 2nd and a ball hit to right the coach stopped him at 3rd but Ichiro didn't see it and caused a logjam at 3rd where one of the Reds infielders threw it into the stands. Pretty sloppy play to be honest.
Ichiro was a stud though. Guy next to me was upset that he was leading off for the past 12 years or whatever and that this move couldn't have come soon enough. I mean yeah, he'll flourish in the 3 spot. He'll be good anywhere to be honest. But to say that the guy who has led the league in hits practically every year shouldn't have been leading off this entire time and it was the wrong move? I stopped listening to him after that. Anyway, it's off to Goodyear Ballpark tomorrow and I've never been but the bar is low because there's nothing out there. I'm hoping it impresses me. |
