To keep up the pretence of him dying in the crash
I don't think they're gonna kill him off though |

My point exactly. If he was really dead, just put the real date on it.

They aren't allowed to tell people that there are people on the island alive for reasons we don't know yet. As far as the rest of the world is concerned, the Oceanic 6 (along with 2 others who soon died) were the only people to make it off the plane alive. Therefore, everybody on the plane except the 6 'died' on September 22nd 2004. But yeah, he's not dead. My money would be on Claire, Juliette, Rose or Bernard if somebody's gonna die/revealed to be dead soon

The way Lost was going I was SO expecting Desmond to get axed in the back right before or during his dramatic embrace with Penny. Glad that didn't happen though.

So I guess next season will be all about Jack convincing the rest of them to go back to the island. The whole island moving thing was awesome. I love Ben. Also hope Keamy comes back somehow next season, if only in a flashback. So badass
Also, I would bet money that Jin is not dead. |

I'm guessing they'll go back and forth from the 6 just getting off the island to getting back to it. But who the fuck knows, I've decided to stop guessing things in this show.
SO glad they didn't kill off Desmond. I would have stopped watching. Dealbreaker right there. But yeah, real glad with him meeting Penny. Why didn't Jin just jump off the boat? Also, what was Sun's motivation for helping Widmore? Or is that something we find out 3 seasons from now? Like the giant foot. |

She probably has interest in getting back to the island as well. That's what I figured at least.. she wants to go back, and thinks he may be able to help her.

I actually thought Faraday would be a big part of the series, but he just kind of was left in the middle of nowhere. I hope he comes back.
WTF with Charlotte coming back? Wonder whats up with that. Miles is growing on me. He knows alot, and I think he will be a big part of what happens on the island,. They said bad things happened after the 6 left, I hope we see it all! I think Next season should be What is happening on the island after the move, adn flash forwards to Jack trying to get everyone back. Season 6 should then be what happens when they get back and wrap up the show. |

I was hoping Desmond was gonna drown...
As for Locke.....I really dont think he is dead when you see him in the coffin. Perhaps a kind of twist where he drank something that put him to sleep and made it appear he was dead (aka Romeo and Juliet) in order to throw the other people off. Or perhaps when they bring his body back to the island it ends up bringing him back to life. I agree with yall that Jin isnt dead. |

Yeah, Jin still alive. And don't believe for a second Locke is as dead as he seems. Something too it, plus with time shift stuff being a possibility shit could get crazy.

These are the alternate endings for the season finale of Lost:
I'm guessing those were filmed to throw people off from spoiling it. |

Why would you guess that, what other reason could they have for that. This isn't a pick your own adventure book you know...

Am I the only one that thought that nothing bad was going to happen to Desmond at all? It seemed like this was the one shot Lost had to fit in a truly happy ending for someone.
Keep in mind this season was 3-4 episodes short. They were going to work in the new guys' personal flashbacks but couldn't with the writer's strike. Pretty sure we'll be seeing plenty from them next season. Shaggy - the fake death while in the US is as bit far fetched, but returning him to the island and him not being dead sounds a lot more like what we might see. Even if he doesnt flat out come back to life, there'll be dreams, visions, there's also a 'little boy from 6th sense wannabe' on the island. Rob - what? A few other notes: Seeing Walt up close and personal and how much he's grown is kind've weird, but at least with what they did storyline wise, they didn't have to do something like recast him. I was hoping his conversation with Hurley would amount to a bit more interesting or weird outcomes, him being so apparently special on the island, but not much coming from it. Hurley playing chess with invisible ghost Eko made me smirk. Kind've wish when he said "checkmate, mr. eko" they actually had the actor make a small cameo or something, sitting in the chair. |

Of course Locke will be back. He is "Dead" in 3 years...We have to see what all happens on the Island, how he gets off, what he says to the 6, and how he dies. He will be around until the very last episode.

Just what I said. Apparently the obituary was not only the torn piece of paper he had but it was also on the paper he was reading on the plane from Sydney when it crashed on the island. |

Just watched. In the words of The Scooter, HOLY COW!
Pretty awesome episode. Here's my take on it. Thank god Desmond didn't die, probably would have gone crazy. Wonder where he and Penny run off to in the next season since Ben is out for revenge. Loved that last second with Michael. Wondering when the time was. Faraday, Charlotte, and Miles are gonna be interesting to watch. Miles' chat with Charlotte got me wondering. The only two things I wonder are how the hell did Locke get his ass back to the states. And how did Ben warp to the desert. Well done Abrams and company. |

I don't remember him having a paper. I remember him drinking, hitting on the flight attendant, and comforting Rose.

Haha, when they panned around the camera to the coffin I was saying "Who is it? Is it Faraday? Is it Daniel? Is it Desmond? Don't be Desmond PLEASE. It's Locke, gotta be Locke . I bet it's Locke. Yup it's Locke."
Interesting that I had those Ideas though. |

Ben warping to the desert was most likely a side effect of him moving the island. That must be what happens to the people who turn the "wooden donkey wheel" as people are calling it. They get warped to a random location in the world. |
