People keep mentioning that without realizing John Fox is almost as bad.
Oh, and don't forget Josh McDaniels |

It's because he got the extra national attention from that HBO show. Plus it's New York (well.. New Jersey.)

Obviously we now wait the inevitable music parody "Timmy and the Jets." I'm guessing it'll be on Sports Radio across the nation tomorrow.

I don't understand the Jets motivations if this is a football move.
Really seems like the organization has the worst little brother syndrome ever. |

How does "Hey New York shake it loose. The spotlight is hitting something 30 yards out of bounds" sound?

makes the extension the Jets gave to Sanchez even worse now considering they tried to reassure him the team has complete faith in him as a starter. Then again they also gave an extension to Holmes after he publicly trashed Sanchez so its not like the team has any real idea of what to do in regards to Sanchez.

Tim Tebow did hire the William Morris Agency last month to represent him in his off the field endeavors like speaking engagements, book signings, t.v. appearances, movies, etc...
I wonder if that had any influence on him ultimately choosing the Jets. Either way, this move to New York is going to make Tim Tebow's life story the greatest Disney movie ever or will end with him being booed out of town mercilessly. I don't think there will be a happy medium. |

If Rex gets the defence up and running again consistently then I can see this working. If they go with a Sanchez and Tebow partnership, which is what it looks like, then I can see them confusing the hell out of other teams, as Sanchez is fantastic with play action, and we've all seen what Tebow's capable of in the shotgun. I'm not saying they'll put up a lot of points necessarily, but they'll definitely keep drives alive, which is what the Jets need to thrive. With a full off season this year they can get back to putting in some complicated plays/schemes and get the Jets back on track. The lockout fucked them up and they dealt with it poorly.

Denver started last season with Orton, Tebow and Quinn. They went to the playoffs and even won a game. All three QBs are now on different teams. Seems like that's gonna be a first.

Why is that weird? Manning was one of the most durable QBs in NFL history for years. He had one neck injury. If they think he's all healed, I don't see what's so crazy about them thinking he's less of a health risk than a running QB who suffered multiple injuries in his last game during his first year as a starter.

I don't think Peyton takes one hard hit this year, even if the defender has the clear. Peyton is one of the golden boys of NFL QBs and after "Bountygate" and all the fines handed out for hard hits last year, I don't think any player is going to want to risk their job on a hard sack to Manning.

The Jets new backup QB Drew Stanton, who signed a deal last friday, already wants out. He asked to be traded or released.
He was promised the #2 job when he signed and he turned down better deals with the Bucs and Chefs to play for the Jets. |

Jacksonville said he'd be 3rd string and work special teams. Jets told him he'd be 3rd string, would be competing to move up and would give him his own package on offense. And they're not Jacksonville. Easy choice.
