It's Horace Goodspeed. If you remember back to Ben's flashbacks, he was the guy (with his wife) who pulled over to help as Ben's mother gave birth (and die) He was also responsible for putting Ben on the island (he helped get Ben's dad the job with Dharma since he worked on the island) and was killed by Ben when he gassed everybody

spoilers:

I'm really intrigued how Richard was scouting out Locke from birth, perhaps a possibility with other oceanic survivors?

also, as expected christian is the man in the cabin... I'm interested to see Locke's plan to save the island pumped for next week.

Good stuff. Another WTF episode. The doctor being alive...then dead was cool. Move the island? I guess maybe that's why the 6 can't find it when they try to go back? Claire in the cabin. WTF.

Well. The island has like a 2 hours ahead of everything else. Hence the Doctor getting offed. That might have something to do with it.

The dead doc's timing may have been more skewed since his corpse probably didn't follow that exact bearing they keep telling the pilot to use.

I was actually kinda expecting to see Claire once it was revealed to be Christian in the cabin, what with her wandering off with someone she called 'dad' in a previous episode, but yeah, its sorta cool all the wtf stuff but at the same time I dunno...That word arbitrary keeps coming to mind, I know this is all supposed to have been written already and that thats the whole nature of the show but yeah, hmm.

One theory I heard claims that Claire is actually died. That she died in the explosion or some time shortly after. Which is why asian ghost hunter kept looking at her strangely as he knew something was up.

What and she was brought back to life by the island or something?

I was thinking she wasn't quite dead yet. She still showed the injury (meaning she was still alive), so my thinking was that she had a vision of Christian and just came to the cabin to speak with him on an unrelated matter, or to give her a place to hide from the gunmen. But I guess vision Claire could have been dead and just injured still.

SO here are some thoughts I had about what I think will happen.

JAck and Sawyer gets to Hurley, while Locke goes into the building. The Mercs are taking ben back when the Others ambush them, save him, and reunite Kate/Said/Jack/Hurley/Sawyer. They flee while the others fight the mercs and get to the copter. Locke starts to move the island. Before they go Ben tells them they only have 5 minutes (from the clips of next show) and Jack decides they CANT go to the beach, they have to go to the boat. They get there, only to find that the bomb is going to blow because that guy has the detonator on his arm. They only have room for one more, and they take Sun/Aaron. They fly away, and the boat blows up, killing Desmond and Jin (or maybe they go back to the island....

AS they are flying away from the boat (cant go back to the island) they run low on fuel...They have to drop weight, and Sawyer sacrifices himself (You can see him saying good bye to Kate maybe in the clips) and they kiss, Kate makes a promise to him, and he jumps from the chopper.

They are about to run out of fuel, when Frank decides to get low to the water, and throw a life raft out, he lets the Oceanic 6 out, and as he tries to manuver the chopper away, crashes and dies.

A few days later the oceanic 6 come ashore...

I think that that works...

Everyone feels guilty about leaving them behind....Which leads Jack eventually to drugs and trying to get back to the island.

The thing I cannot wait to see, is How Ben Gets off the island, and what happens before he leaves.

I dont see any way to get Jin and Desmond off the boat, because I accept Jin is dead, because Sun blames her dad for his death, I doubt she would say that if he was alive on the island.

That would be a great way for Jin to go...stays behind to let the others live. This sets up the Sun empowerment.

But Desmond has so much story left, I PRAY he doesnt die, but what else is there? Same with Michael.

I dont see Sawyer just letting everyone else go, I do think my idea would be cool. But he is such a major player I dont know if he can die.

But this is lost, they dont mind killing people off that have loose ends (rousseu)

Sawyer's not gonna die. He doesn't want off the island so why wouldn't he let them go? I'm not so sure Jin is dead either. Sun has to keep up the pretence that he is dead because of their story and in her mind she's never gonna see him again so I can see why she'd be equally angry with her father. Exactly. I could handle what was in season 1 with the giant monster, seeing dead people, fixing Locke's legs. But this is getting a little out of hand.
