Best Potential
We have a loaded roster currently in the WWE when discussing WWE potential. Bray Wyatt, Ambrose, Reigns, Harper, Ryback, Rollins, etc. Who do you believe has the best potential to leave their imprint on the WWE. Maybe not be the "face" of the WWE but become the biggest star out of all the potential stars.
I think Bray Wyatt is going to become the star for the longest time out of everyone on the roster. He has a gimmick that will keep evolving and keeping people interested. Reigns may be the BIGGER star but will phase out way before Bray Wyatt does. Really hope they stop doing this stupid feud with a ghost crap though. It was cool to do the first time, but this time its kind of like "ummmm" and IF it happens against it will feels dull. Now, if he gets a major injury at sometime in his career I would like him to do this for like 3 months before he returns which would scare the crap out of all the wrestlers because no one wants to be in his wrath. |

I think Balor is going to get over on Daniel Bryan levels of popularity from his ability, look and entrance alone. If he can find something else character wise that really connects with people, stays relatively healthy and has the office behind him, I think he could potentially surpass everybody listed there. Potentially.

I think Kevin Owens has something to work with. He has so many levels to his persona.
However, the WWE has dropped the ball on SEVERAL stars that are awesome in other places. But with HHH leading the recruitment, I think that problem will be solved. |

Really hard to tell if a person will have legs to be a star for the long haul before they get into the WWE. Some people get gimmicks that don't have the ability to bring them to the star status, let alone for years and years to come (See Fandango).

he has the legs to be a star and you can almost guarantee his persona when he gets "brought up" won't be any different from what he's doing now in NXT. It's about luck and what they do with him

he is also a tremendous heel, which potentially opens up a lot of other avenues down the line once he's "established"

Realistically, about a good 80% of the roster have the potential to be huge stars.

Macka, lets not help kill the forums.
I agree Ramm. So much talent on the roster right now which is why I thought this would be a good discussion. Kind of think Harper is the safe bet to be a "star" for the longest period of time. Could easily see him filling Kane/Big Show shoes, once Kane/Big Show leaves, with little effort. He will be the guy who just never goes away because he will be fitted into randomness that needs someone that is credible to be part of the storyline. |

Rusev although all depends on how they handle him after the Cena feud. Right now its a toss up between him and Rollins on who is the best heel wrestler in the WWE at the moment.
In terms of not on the main roster at the moment, Sami Zayn. If they build him right, he could easily be the next "Cena" in terms of being a mega-face and super adored by the crowd like Bryan. |

Sami Zayn if he can stop being injury prone.
Feel like he has the same "humble" personality and would be very good at public appearances/charity stuff. Stockholders could really get behind him as the face of the company, I think. Everything else is secondary. |

Sami Zayn and Finn Balor from the current NXT guys, as well as potentially some of the women down there. From the guys already on the main roster? Probably...Wyatt.

Agree with everyone who said Balor, when ever he gets called up he will be a star.

If we're basing it on potential for guys themselves to be a huge star and not factoring in the booking, Ryback and Fandango. I'd put Wyatt up there too but I think he's just a step behind because I there's a limit to how over a "gimmicky" heel could actually get and I'm not sure the gimmick could transition to a face well enough to become massively over ala Taker.

I love Sami Zayn, the sentiment behind it and he has most of the tools but he is never going to become the face of the company

Good thread. At this time last year, I was extremely high/bullish on Bray Wyatt, but the WWE needs to start doing something with him quite soon. Wyatt needs a feud with year where he CLEANLY goes over a long time main-eventer, otherwise the fans might start getting bored with his character. Bray Wyatt needs a "Triple H going over Mick Foley" type feud with a long time main-eventer at some point at or before next year's Wrestlemania. Rusev and Neville are two other guys that I'm bullish on. |

Are we just talking WWE or can we speculate TNA as well?
If we are, I'd go for EC3 and Bram. Both have "the look" (big, ripped, someone you can believe is a wrestler), tons of experience, great workers and never really got a shot to main event in WWE but always stood out to be stars if given the right push |

There really is a tremendous amount of talent on today's WWE/NXT roster. It's exciting, really. I think that Seth Rollins is really the most complete package out of everyone, but since he's completely shining right now, I will say that my PERSONAL favorites are probably Luke Harper, Neville, and Dean Ambrose. If they just let those guys cut loose, they could all be huge.

I'm not exactly sure why.... but I like Alex Riley. Big guy, solid build yet agile, he kinda "bounced around" post Miz, but I feel like he is really trying to get over with the fans in NXT (where a lot of guys, once they've had their "moment in the sun" they just kinda coast after that). I can still see him being an IC or US Champ in the WWE.... |

Riley gets a hard time, but some of the things he has cannot be taught. He just needs to get himself to that next level in the ring. I'm looking forward to his return in NXT, presumably as a heel.

Down the track, have Harper turn on Wyatt & Rowan, aligning himself with Seth Rollins. Something like that during a Bray Wyatt title match could be a pretty important moment. Wyatt losing the allegiance of his most important follower could be a poignant moment for his gimmick moving into top face territory. |

Sorry Noid but I think you might have misinterpreted my comments. What I said was that I think Bray Wyatt needs a "Triple H/Mick Foley" type feud. In other words - I think Bray Wyatt needs to cleanly defeat a legit main-event wrestler three times in a row so that Bray re-establishes himself as a legit threat. For example - Bray Wyatt defeating someone like Randy Orton three times in a row. Or Bray defeating Big Show three times in a row, and then ending Taker's career in a Wrestlemania re-match next year. |

Yea, but he was a lot better when he "returned" recently to NXT. Like I said there's something I like about him, and the "Rage Riley Rage" was slowly getting over with the fans in NXT before his recent injury.

These two guys right here..... Mike something or other and Eli Simpson are gonna main event Mania against each other some day Seriously though, I actually found both of the "enhancement" guys really good here. If we're talking on "potential", I see a lot of it in Murphy and Blake. They kinda started out as "Wolves knockoffs", doing the finger pointing into the camera and a similar style to them in the ring (coincidentally debuting shortly after the Wolves chose TNA over NXT). They have come into their own though, more of a brash, cocky attitude. I can see them being a memorable tag team if given the right push and direction. |
