King Diamond
Got my first King Diamond CD today. Cost me £3. "Nightmare In The Nineties". Kinda a "best of" of his 90's material.
Pretty badass I must say. Not really too keen on the vocals or the lyrics (thought the vocals are fairly cool) but the riffs are fucking awesome! Puts most modern metal to shame. Currently liking the following songs: From The Other Side Waiting The Exocist Eastmann's Cure Just A Shadow One Down Two to Go Welcome Home Gotta check out some Mercyful Fate while I'm at it. I only know the song "Buried Alive"... and again, fucking awesome riffs. So... any Fate/Diamond fans? Recommendations? Etc... |

The majority of modern rock and metal don't come close to what was being put out a decade ago and more.
Mercyful fate have some good songs, but i think the vocals always annoyed me. So i've barely ever listened to them. |

King Diamond's albums are all concept albums. A King Diamond "best of" CD is like taking 1 chapter from each of Steven King's best books, putting them together and calling it a "best of book".

Got the 'Best of King Diamond/Mercyful Fate' album. Pretty sweet. 'Welcome Home' is the reason I started listening. Good shit.
