Ellsworth beat the champ again.
Ellsworth-Styles should do what Cena-Rock could never do and pull off Thrice In A Lifetime match. |

Didn't get to see the show. Did watch Talking Smack though, which continues to be awesome. Really enjoying how they are gearing Network shows to the hardcore fan. Very smart use of their properties.
I'm expecting big things from Baron Corbin in the next 12 months. They should give him a good showing in the Rumble and I would have him be the one to unseat Ziggler as IC champ. |

• I can see the Orton/Bray feud coming to an end at Survivor Series in a casket match. It very rarely happens without The Undertaker so it'll be interesting to see.
I think this will be the third time a casket match has happened in the WWE without The Undertaker being involved. • Alexa defeating Naomi kind of puts right the wrong that happened at No Mercy in my opinion. It's now two weeks until her title match so she really needs to look like a legitimate threat to Lynch's title so her win had to happen. Maybe next week she can have her rubber match against Naomi and win again, then the week before her title match, she can have some promo time. Also, am I the only guy who finds Otunga incredibly biased towards Naomi? I know he's the face colour commentator and he's supposed to root for the good guys, but the way it comes across to me is like he legitimately means what he says, but what he says has a weird vibe to it. I don't know how to describe this vibe and put it into words, but I'll try. When he talks about Naomi, he talks like he's in love with her. If this was the Attitude Era, he would be openly talking about how attractive he finds her and how he would love to sleep with her if he wasn't married. • Curt Hawkins is one of my favourite things about SmackDown. Coming out and not really doing anything reminds me of Chris Jericho when he returned in 2012. I also love his quotes that are played over his theme. The best one this week was "You wanted to see him last week, but Curt Hawkins didn't want to see you!" and his stroppy walk away from the ring was funny too. We now know that he'll be feuding with Crews and I can see Hawkins and Crews possibly having a few matches between now and Survivor Series, with their rubber match being part of the Survivor Series Pre-Show. • Carmella, oh my God. This whole segment felt like I was watching some terrible show on E! or MTV or some other terrible channel. It also felt like just one big advert for Total Bellas. (probably because it was) Even though Carmella is just 100% all kinds of terrible, she actually wasn't wrong with what she was saying. She was actually making some good points. • I still feel that Kenny & Mikey should drop The Spirit Squad name and change attire if they're going to be around for a while. I think they may be staying around until Survivor Series, but I actually wouldn't mind them staying permanently. At first it was nice to see them back and we all had a little chuckle about The Spirit Squad being on WWE TV in 2016, but they've actually really grown on me to the point where I now wouldn't mind seeing them stay. Kenny is in fantastic shape and Mikey, although he has gotten a bit thicker, can still go in the ring. Speaking of which, what was with Otunga (or possibly the guys in the back feeding Otunga lines) making a subtle fat joke about Mikey? He isn't even fat. I'd say he's more thick than fat. To me, fat is someone like Kevin Owens. • Why on earth did Jack Swagger job like a champion to Baron Corbin? It will forever boggle my mind why Corbin is being portrayed the way he his. • The main event was entertaining and it's cool that Ellsworth has a theme and graphics now, so we can expect to see more of him in the future, which is cool I guess. The whole James Ellsworth thing is entertaining, but I feel the comedy segments with him kinda drag on a bit too long. They're funny at first and entertaining but then after a while, I find myself just watching and occasionally doing that "laugh" where you exhale through your nose and smile. • I will say that SmackDown was again the A Show. I'm glad I've managed to get tickets to SmackDown when they come over here and I can see this SmackDown goodness live with my own eyes. |

Wait, are they seriously pushing Ellsworth against Styles? Holy fuck, this company. Styles was like the one unsullied thing they had going for them and he's applying chinlocks to a guy with no chin that slips out of them? :-|
The good news is, Vince would have been laughing at that so much that he'll now love Styles even more, so he'll be champion forever and a day even if whatever mainstream appeal he has is dashed with this sort of shit. Honestly though, Styles is one of the few guys good enough to do this, but they shouldn't be making him. |

I haven't watched them since they've been back, but in theory, I am glad that Kenny & Mikey are back. Why not? Solid talents and big things were there for Kenny until the politics happened. I honestly think they could bring it up for an angle one day and Kenny could have a nice program against Cena. The dude is only 30.
I would like to see them move away from the Spirit Squad thing. Why not go with Ken Doane & Mike Mondo? I'd like them to reach out the Johnny Jeter, who was the most talented in the group, in my opinion. He couldn't leave his job for a one-off, but if they're going somewhere with this, he could be a great addition to the roster. Baron Corbin reminds me of a guy who knows what to do, but he just doesn't know how to do it. He's got the lyrics but not the music. |

Between Cena being out and Orton being busy with Bray, only other realistic option would have been a lot more matches between Styles and Ambrose and risk neither looking good because of 50-50 booking. Storywise, they already established Styles doesn't see Ellsworth as a real threat and never takes him seriously while being paranoid Ambrose is going to screw him out of the title. |

Aj doesn't look weak because Ellsworth's wins have all been facilitated through Dean Ambrose and those wins usually come after Aj has murdered him in the ring. |
