Apparently, this was the original Evolution Titantron vid. Is it even called the Titantron anymore? Hmm. I don't remember that theme tune, though.

LOL, I remember that theme. I think it was in one of the games and they had used it for a week or two. I do remember it because I remember thinking the one with lyrics is better.

Evolution is one of the most underrealized stables I have ever witnessed. Could have been great, could have gotten a bit bigger, could have switched leaders when Orton was a main eventer, and could have been one of those stables that runs the show.
Could have been a great one. |

To be honest, I think they had a nice two year run, which is a long time in today's wrestling business. They won titles, made an impact, were involved in some memorable matches and angles. I wouldn't call it underrealized. They had a good run, and it ended at about the right time.
The only thing that could have made a difference would be if they had added new members. Maybe when Orton and Batista broke away, Trips and Flair could have brought in two new young guys and led a feud between the new-look Evolution against Orton and Batista. That might have been a missed opportunity, but other that that I can't see much to complain about with Evolution's run. |

At that time, Christian and Tomko would have been interesting replacements for Orton and Batista.

LMAO Yet another reason why no one should be surprised as to why WCW made poor business decisions that led them to close down.
This is the night after Starrcade 97, check out the ending to this match....I think Shiavone's last words actually meant to say, 'OH SHIT WTF IS GOING ON, NO ONE PLANNED OUT A TIME STRUCTURE TO THIS NITRO!' |

When the hell is WWE going to use Michael Buffer? Seriously, I'm surprised they didn't use him for the main event at Mania last year.

Love the way Shavione claimed the bell hadn't rung when Hogan hit Sting with the belt.

Heavy bet says Hogan somehow convinced them to put the match on way after time limit so that he wouldn't have to put Sting over again that night...even though he did a shitty job of it the night before...god I hate Hogan for all I know he did, and all the random things I can accuse him of with no proof that I chose to believe are real out of pure spite and hatred.

As for the match itself.... Sting really should have destroyed Hogan at Starrcade '97 and the nWo should have fallen apart in the immediate aftermath. 1998 should have focused on Goldberg, Raven, Jericho, Benoit etc., with the former members of the nWo feuding, but with all nWo affiliations over with and done. Meh it's all hindsight I suppose...
The only good thing to come out of the nWo continuing beyond that night was the way it helped build Goldberg in mid 1998. |

Also listen to jr when the rock misses the second elbow drop, he takes his elbow pad off yet JR says he drove his unexposed elbow into the canvas. Last edited by Gerard; 03-19-2007 at 06:58 PM. |

Not the best quality of filming, but the match more than makes up for it...also no commentary is provided...

That youtube is pretty quiet, if the volume went further that pop would be given more justice. I have it on tape and it's awesome.
