Without Bob Barker, should TPiR go on?
If a replacement host was found for Bob Barker on TPiR, would you even bother to tune in? How good/great would his replacement have to be for you to even consider watching? I'm considering not watching if they don't cancel it sometime between now and Sept., TBH

They have tried out new hosts when Bob gets sick or takes a break and it just isn't the same. It shouldn't continue, but it will until it falls flat on its face.

It would depend on who they select. I mean if the rumors are true and Rosie O'Donnell becomes host, then HELL NO I wouldn't watch. I guess we will have to wait and see first.

I heard way back John O'Hurley was a possibility. If Rosie O'Donnell gets it, just send it over to GSN.

Todd Newton was a rumored possibility. That would be good, he does a good job (did on Whammy).

*WARNING: GAME SHOW NUT ENTERING THREAD*
Mario Lopez turned it down. Chuck Woolery's very comfortable doing Lingo. (Read: fondling Shandi Finnessey every day) Dave Price (the weatherman on the Early Show) was supposedly the heir apparent, but his audition sucked so bad that it left the network scrambling. At one point, they had announced a top three: Todd Newton, George Hamilton, and Mark Steines (Entertainment Tonight guy), but now they're doing more auditions, including John O'Hurley. If it were up to me, I'd have it down to two by now: Newton and Marc Summers. Marc's been hosting a live stage version of TPiR at a Harrah's casino, I think in Atlantic City, and supposedly is doing a hell of a job. In answer to DAMNiNATOR's question, yeah, keep it going, as long as they don't choose an incompetent as hell host. |

If Marc Summers hosted TPiR, that would be the cleanest set EVER for him.

I don't watch now, but I don't see why Bob Barker leaving should change anything.

Marc Summers would be awesome. But isn't his show on Food Network still going? Or did that get axed?
