I feel like he was messing around. A guy with his wrestling background will always have the itch to get back in the ring but if I'm right about what he's doing which I think is becoming more of celebrity and not just a famous wrestler I think he has a better future a la Dwayne Johnson than someone who wrestles all the time and tears his body up for it and will just be known as a wrestler (John Cena).

He is going to get the biggest pop ever at WrestleMania 31 when he helps save Daniel Bryan ala Ultimate Warrior/Hogan at WM8.

Eh, I'm over Punk at this point. I enjoyed his work as much as the next guy, but his last year in WWE was pretty clearly phoned in (with the exception of a couple of big matches like with Brock or Taker). Walking out was a dick move, especially considering the timing of it with the Network launching and Mania right around the corner, but I can't really fault the guy for hanging it up if he didn't think it was worth it anymore.
I have no doubt that CM Punk will show up again in the WWE at some point-- if Vince can mend fences with Bret Hart, he can make a deal with Punk-- but I'm not counting on it being any time soon. I'd say a minimum of two years, and even then, he'll probably get a part-time deal like Jericho where he only works a couple of months at a time. At any rate, he looks a lot happier and healthier now that he's not on the road getting beaten up all the time, so hey, more power to him. |

Punk will probably return for Once in a Lifetime - CM Punk vs Kenta vs Daniel Bryan. To keep with tradition, Punk won't get the main event spot at Mania.

And it will get cut short to make more time for the main event of Rock vs. Lesnar vs. Batista.

This may be an unpopular opinion, but good riddance to CM Punk he is not bigger than the entire company. Don't get me wrong, I wish he was still in WWE and I will cheer if/when he comes back, but we have seen this before. The company will go on, new stars will emerge and we will all be happy.

Yeah CM Punk was wrong for walking out, but whatever it's his call. Good for him.
