One thing I read was this...

The Cause might be a gas leak....Benoits wife and son became sick from the gas leak, causing him to come home. While he was home trying to take care of them the gas leak ends up getting all 3.

It is really a horror trying to put it through my head that Benoit would do it. Its been noted that they didnt have any stab or bullet wounds so it cant possibly be that. The only thing that hasnt been said was if there was any bruises or anything from possibly a beating.

Im afraid that I probably wont be able to stomach the news that is coming in the next couple of days.

Why are you guys so sure that there is no way Benoit could kill his wife and son? Do you know him or something? Of course his friends and co-workers are going to say he was a great guy and a family man after he died, I'm sure Hitler's buddies said that after his death too. For all we know Benoit was a psycho.

it is so odd.

If he killed his son the next day (Sunday) after killing Nancy Saturday, it kind of rules out the Temporary Insanity thing, and makes it more motivated.

He calls into work and doesnt show after committing murders, that does make sense though.

After several days of thinking about what he hsa done and what is ahead of himself, he Kills himself. That makes sense.

But I want to know more facts about the events leading to the Sunday call. Everything makes sense after the murders, nothing before it. He is not some crazy killer that would plan this, but who snaps for 2 days then comes out of it. I dont get it

Regardless of what has happened, I'd just like to thank Chris Benoit for the many wonderful memories that he provided me as a wrestling fan.

I do not know Chris Benoit in real life, but I DO know (to a certain extent) Chris Benoit THE WRESTLER a.k.a. The Rabid Wolverine.

I remembered that first night when Benoit lead the Radicalz and shit kicked DX. I remember that night where Chris Benoit became World heavyweight Champion for the 1st time, only to celebrate with Eddie Guerrero afterwards. I remember Chris Benoit for his 5 star classic matches with Dean Malenko, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, and many many more.

I do not "know" Steve Williams. I do not "know" Michael Hickenbottom, or Paul Levesque. Simiarly, I do not "know" Chris Benoit outside the WWE.

Based on his tremendous wrestling career however, I want to thank Chris Benoit for the many wonderful memories that he provided me.

While there is that one ray of light left in Pandora's box, let us hold onto it instead of trying to take it away. The only thing that is final is there are three people who are dead, and a world in shock.
Now it might be true that when someone passes away people mainly recall the good memories and block out the bad. It has happened in my family where some junkie with mental and legal problems killed himself. I know this happens. But youd on't have to be a total prick about it.
If Benoit ended up doing it then I'm sure we'll all be in shock. All we've seen is him in the ring, him not breaking kayfabe. And maybe you're idea of Benoit being a psycho is true. Until we know who did what please do us all a favor and shut the fuck up!

benoit was one of my favourite wrestler's when I watched, this is insane. I figured it was apart of the Vince McMahon work but it's not obv. This is terrible news. RIP Benoit and family. Benoit may be guilty of murder/suicide which is horrible but I don't want to "assume" anything until I know - if it's true, I have to wonder why.

I think the current theory is that he killed his wife and son both on Saturday.

That'd make for some sadistic irony to the report that he called WWE and said Daniel and Nancy were "coughing up blood."

Exactly, all you've seen him is in the ring. You don't know shit about what kind of person he is. That's why all these posts like "I refuse to believe Chris would do that" are ridiculous. Chris Benoit, the wrestler, was one of my favorites too. Chris Benoit, the person, I cannot vouch for--neither can any of you. But if it's true that he murdered his wife and 7-year-old son, then fuck him.

It's like saying there's no way Michael Richards could be a racist because Kramer had black friends.

I don't know all the circumstances, but is it possible that his wife called and sounded really disturbed or something, so he went home, only for her to go berserk and kill the whole family? I'm not quite sure why everybody is pinning this all on Benoit.

I really don't want to believe any of these scenarios. This is all so terrible.

I dont think its really along the lines of us really thinking he couldnt do it...Because hell...anyone can kill anyone...

Its more along the lines of that we dont really want it to end up that he did it. We all dont want to believe that the guy we have looked up to in the ring week after week could do such a horrible I thing.

Think Heyman summed it up best. I have not watched wrestling since last august when I left for Brazil, but Benoit, the wrestler, the talent, was great and I will always remember being off my seat, up late, watching THAT Wrestlemania and the finish to that match.

If something sinister has happened, could be evil, lust, jealousy, or a mental imbalance, terrible accident, ANYTHING, we might never know motives or actual chains of events.

We do know who we watched for all those years though, and for that, we have to say thank you.

absolutely, it could have been Nancy, it could have been someone else - we aren't psychic's here. Although reports lean toward Benoit killing the family (primary suspect) which I imagine causes people to believe he was the killer, which might be true.



I remember my fav wrestlemania moment (Benoit winning the world championship), I guess it's best to think of the good right now, the happy memories.

So you can't hate him for killing his wife and kid, IF he did that, because you don't know what he had going for or against him. I had a friend who killed his dad under the influence of Prozac. Do I hate him? No.
