HHH would love that idea.
If each of his opponents gave him gauntlet matches he could beat the entire Raw roster in a month |

Seems like they did the right thing with the Orton match, Orton had to pin HHH clean.
Only problem is that they'll go to the ass backwards bookign where the faces get to put the heels in out numbered situations, which makes the heels look sympathetic and stronger. RAW isn't back on PPV until January, so they need to do something on TV to keep people's interest. I guess the idea of seeing HHH get his ass kicked every week is the idea, but I have a feeling its going to make Hunter look like a face by the end of it. I personally cant wait for Maven to run the show, thats going to be so funny.... and pathetic. Rest of the show seemed like what you would expect, and considering how things have been going, I see that as a bad thing. JBL retained, and even though I love his charcater, I still think they needed to change something at the top. At the same time, a heel JBL has far more potential opponents than a babyface champ BT would have. On RAW they seem to be continuing onwards with the Orton-HHH program, which to me anyway is very uninteresting. So, the future still doesn't seem very promising. And I wonder if this PPV tanks in terms of buys (which is likely give the lack of buzz around the show) if they will reconsider some of their plans. I keep saying it, but I think Mania is in serious trouble, unless something huge happens in the next couple of months. |

*The Cock makes his first ever cameo in a WWE thread*
Cock: Typical with WWE, the PPV sucked ass. Orton? YAY! Although I wish I could've been there to tell Heidenreich that his poetry was enlightening. He's a true poet, with cool tattoos and bleached blonde hair. I like that. But he ain't cooler than my red shirt. D&G baby! As for Danny. Hmmmm. He's sexy. Deadman Inc? Well....EASY BIG FELLA!!!!! I wish WWE the best of luck. They're gonna need it. Well, we saw Shawn Michaels vs Triple H a hundred times. Y'all get ready to see Orton vs Triple H 20 more times by the end of this year. Ciao |

So, was the PPV worth it?
My cable company fucked me over and I didn't get the show (unless the WWE sent everyone else some kind of special glasses that, when worn, decipher a blank screen into full blown wrestling action), but I'm starting to feel like I didn't miss anything special. |

PPV wasn't too bad from my view. Eugene/Angle was . Snitsky/Heidenreich was . I thought Booker was gonna win the title, but not this time. Angle got squashed, which was surprising. Lita going apeshit on Trish was cool. Though the chair shots looked pretty bad, or they were supposed to be intentionally missed. I figured at least one of the heel teams were gonna win, but that didn't happen either. Surprised to see Benoit eliminated first from the main event. And Orton elevated himself with his performance in the main event. RAW should be interesting the next few weeks.

I would put my money on Benoit or Jericho giving themselves a title match against Triple H with Evolution banned from ring side. With the finish being that they have the match won only to have Maven interfere and join Evolution.
Then we get a heel run Raw just because the show would be really bad with Maven as the central character running the show and because this is going to get old pretty quick unless they put a spin on it. |

If Booker had won, I'd have bought the rerun webcast to see it, and assuming he retained the entire month, I'd have purchased Armaggedon this December (on TV) to watch his rematch against JBL.
However, Booker didn't win, so I'll simply continue to not watch WWE programming or purchase their PPVs. So eh. I'll just watch TNA, or something besides wrestling. To tell the truth, I don't give two pints of piss about Randy Orton, or John Cena, or John Heidrenchen, or Eugene Dinsmore, or Chris Benoit, or HHH. I like wrestlers like Booker T, Christian, Shelton Benjamin, Chris Jericho, Chavo Guerrero Jr., Rob Van Dam, The Big Show, and a few others. I care about them. When they aren't headlining the PPV (or even on the card), I'm not gonna watch. I guess I'm just being a typical fan -- I'm not gonna watch a PPV headlined by a relative no-name -- and despite how big you wanna pretend Orton is today, he's a nobody to the casual fan. You have to build the new guys up, but you can't just throw them in the limelight and expect the fans to pay to watch them, unless, that is, you make them a new Goldberg -- and I would hope that WWE hasn't stooped to that level. |

6-months ago or so (or what seems like 6-months ago) he was brand new. A month ago, he was a mid-carder in a stable dominated by HHH and Flair. So, you're right - he's a midcarder until suddenly he is bigger than Benoit and Edge? Makes no sense. As I said before, he's virtually a no-name compared to many of the names on the card. And I won't pay to watch no-names fight a main event. Just my own personal thing -- I just don't care about HHH vs. Orton. In fact, I've asked my friends who like wrestling, and none of THEM care about HHH vs. Orton. We may only number about a dozen, but there are a dozen fans that haven't even bothered watching RAW for the past month because the feud was boring as all hell. BTW, we've been watching wrestling since the mid 80's individual, and as a group since about '97. But we've never taken a month off a franchise until WWE bought WCW and ECW. Now, we're so bored of WWE, we take months off at a time. We do watch TNA when we can, but the timing is off for most of us (3:00 pm EST). But, eh. You, or whomever else, can argue Orton is a big name, worthy of respect and awe. And WWE can argue the same thing. And then we can look at the buy-rates, and we'll see just how well Orton draws... And I'm sorry, but Orton's no Duane Johnson. I don't know WHO convinced Vince of this, but the Rock has more charisma in his left buttock than Orton has in his entire body. That's just the way it is. Unless Orton's improved substantially in the past month, then I find his interviews wooden and...sort of stupid. But eh. |

I just said he's not a no name. He's been around since 2002, steadily since 2003 and had a pretty extensive IC title reign.
I don't really care for him myself mind you |

I hope we see Michaels & Angle as the final two in the Royal Rumble, then we have HBK win the match, but decide he's going to challenge for the WWE Championship, which is won over by Angle from JBL at No Way Out. Actually I hope Kane wins the Rumble, but since that isn't happening, and I really can't see Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker for the Championship (leading the card that is), I'm going to say I hope a former winner of the event takes the 2005 Royal Rumble. Either a former winner or Kurt Angle. |

I hope we see Orton run RAW the first week, and declare a 3 on 1 Handicap Match with Evolution and anyone else barred from ringside. Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho & Maven (and maybe Randy Orton) vs. Triple H. If The Game loses, then next week we have a Gauntlet Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. If Triple H loses we then see a Triple Threat Match to decide which man will take the World Heavyweight Championship.
Either we see Maven turn heel in the 3 on 1 Match, or we see him turn heel in the Gaunlet and cost his team the match (this is during the second week, which is Maven's week). Benoit then puts himself in a match which bars Evolution from ringside. Benoit then loses with interference from Maven, whi is not officially made a member of Evolution. Jericho then makes a match with Triple H under the "Evolution & Maven barred from ringside" kind, and he could even go further and make it a submission match. Anyway, either Jericho wins with interference from Orton, Batista, Edge or Snitsky, or we see Triple H manage to cheat his way out of another sticky situation. Eric Bischoff then comes back and announces either War Games Match, an Elimintion Chamber, a new gimmick match featuring the major faces and heels of RAW or a Triple Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. I'm thinking something along the lines of Triple H vs. Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit. Anyway, we can either see Triple H drop the title to Jericho for less than a month, and regain it at the Rumble or soon thereafter, or we can see Triple H regain it from Jericho in the TCM, or we see Triple H remain the champion througout all of this. Orton is unsuccessful in the Royal Rumble, getting eliminated at the same time as John Cena in the middle of the match, after both are dumped out by Batista. Orton manages to get under Triple H's skin to the point where Triple H accepts his challenge at Mania 21. |

I think its the casual fans view of Orton. I think my friend who is a mark, probably thinks the same way, not exactly that he's a no name but he just doesn't care about him. When Orton was a heel he said he couldn't stand Orton, i doubt that would've changed just because he became a face, from the way he said it.
And what the fuck? Faces won the raw main event? That should be interesting, i think. It will test the storyline writers ability certainly, as the easy route would've been to let the heels win, but then you would just have Evolution beat down the whole roster, thats why i wasn't totally sure the heels would win this. But overall i think this is a dumb idea, because its gonna get stale very soon, unless they come up with something new. But I don't exactly have any faith in the wwe storyline writers, that all disappeared a few years ago, during one of HHH's title reigns. |

I will reiterate, internet peeps may think Orton is the greatest thing since sliced bread, but most casual fans DON'T CARE ABOUT HIM AT ALL. The Rock and SCSA and even HHH (at one time), were funny on the mic even though they couldn't wrestle to save their lives. Angle could do both, and was such a tool it was funny. Nash and Hall are two more people that couldn't wrestle a match if they were paid too (and they were!). But they were FUNNY and inovative on the mic. Orton can wrestle so-so, and really isn't a good talker. He might be the best there is right now, but you can't POSSIBLY tell me he's better than Road Dogg, or The Rock, or Jeff Jarrett, or Raven, or Kanyon, or DDP, or Sting, or most other big names in their primes. |
