I, too, am in favor of this becoming the Undertaker vs Sting thread.

I have not watched TNA Sting much at all. I choose to remember him as he was in his WCW days. I think they would make an unbelievably awesome storyline heading into Mania. This match has been rumored/discussed for years now. Also, I understand how cool it is that Sting is still refusing to appear on WWE television, but for one match, and one match only, against Undertaker at WrestleMania would be fucking amazing. The fact that Sting is my favorite of all time doesn't hurt, either.

You guys are bonkers. I don't see the appeal. It's just Sting.

It might be the fact that I was such a huge wrestling fan and a kid when the nWo angle was hot, and Sting was the good guy, ya know? The one guy that would strike fear into them and whatnot, that shit was AMAZING to me as a kid, and part of that has still stuck with me, I suppose. Dude is a legend, would mark the fuck out.

I was a big wrestling fan then, too. I still am now. I still don't get it.
Obviously, you're all entitled to that, but I'm not hearing anything that could make that match exciting. |

I guess there's a sense that they're "natural opponents" or something.
Taker was one of a handful of guys (along with HBK) to stay loyal to Vince when every other big name jumped ship to WCW. On the opposite side of the coin, Sting is the single biggest star never to appear in WWE. They also have some correlation in gimmick; the quasi-supernatural thing. And they both like leather trenchcoats, of course. The match would probably be pretty run of the mill from an in-ring perspective but I don't doubt that with the WWE machine behind it the build up and spectacle would be incredible. |

Sting's not supernatural anymore. Like, at all. He only even wears his face paint sometimes.
I guess if WWE DID bring him in, they could ignore that, but the luster is nil for me. |

Mysterio wrestled without a mask for a few years. I don't think I need to say anything else.
