Take it with a grain of salt since only some can be confirmed but a few new details are rumored to have been leaked.
Day 1 DLC will be just the color edit and costume swap packs. Capcom is planning at least 5 character DLC packs with 3 confirmed and 2 packs still in discussion. The sizes will be different since some are just unlock keys while others contain the moves not found on the disc. They will also be arriving about once every month at the price of $3 per character or $10 for a set of 4. SPOILER: show No chance at Blanka or R. Mika ever appearing because Capcom has no plans for them to be in the game regardless of fan feedback. No Alex or Karin either because Ono hates those characters. Quote:
The Arcade Mode final boss is always Akuma & Orge but the 2nd to last fight mini-boss depends on the characters you selected for a team. SPOILER: show Some of the other potential rumors deal with the story itself so that is staying in the link. http://www.capcom-unity.com/knuxpyro...new_sfxt_leaks |

So so excited. And yeah, if those DLC characters are true, I'll probably get all of them. Sadly.

No interest in any of the DLC characters, what so ever. Jack...meh, maybe if he was sold seperatley or something. Though I doubt that.
I'm a little confused by the Blanka/Mika/Alex/Karin thing. So, Ono is powerful enough to have 2 characters he hates left out of the game but he's not powerful enough to have 2 characters he loves be included? I'm not sure about that work policy, anyway. Ono can have characters left out because he doesn't like them and Capcom wont include specific characters regardless of what fans want. Wouldn't it be more profitable to sell characters players want, regardless if Capcom, Ono, Seth or whoever else loves or hates them? |

The characters are going to be sold separately but are arriving in sets which is how the discount is possible ($2 savings if all 4 are bought at once).
From what I understand about the new details, he just doesn't want those characters included but it didn't specify why besides him not really liking those characters. Capcom is currently working on a small pool of reserve characters meant for the final 2 DLC packs and it happens that those 4 are not in the reserve pool. |

That kinda sucks. Was really hoping for Alex. However, with Elena, Bryan, and Christie now as DLC, Alex is the only omission I care about, so I am pretty stoked about the roster regardless.

What scares me is the pricing for all these DLC characters based on previous character pricing. I still haven't bought AE 2012 because it hasn't seen a price drop. Same with the UMVC3 characters, though I can live without both of them.

Actually these characters are cheaper than Jill/Shuma. AE is a good deal and the 2012 update is free after that.
But I'm probably gonna get all of that DLC, even the gems. I love this game. |

If anyone is buying the SE from GAME, in the UK, check your preorder. I had mine preordered at £59.99 and GAME are supposed to update the price if and when they lower it. They knocked it down to £49.99 and didn't alert me or automatically adjust what they were going to charge me. In the end, I had to cancel the SE preorder and re preorder it. I used £2 I had on my reward card so I'm getting the SE for just £8 more than the price of the standard version. Considering 40 DLC gems alone will likely cost over £8, that's not so bad for the SE, gems and other extras. |

Vita version wont be released until Autumn. It'll get 12 additional characters. Most likely have these guys added as DLC, IMO. Some have already been confirmed as such, like Guy & Cody.

I wonder why they never brought back anyone from SF1. Ryu/Ken and Sagat don't really count because they've been pretty much everywhere the entire time. Someone like Eagle, Joe or something.
I wouldn't say no to Eagle, even if he isn't exactly my style. It would just be cool to see him. |

Also, this DLC business sounds a bit sketchy to me. First off, it's not Capcoms style to release things separately. They always release stuff in packs, to squeeze more dollars out of people. Second, the sheer amount of characters is a bit of a red flag. All told, the game will have 58 characters on 360 and 61 on PS3. That's more than even MvC2. Pretty common knowledge that the more characters there are, the tougher it is to keep everything balanced. With that many characters AND the gem system thrown in, it seems like a herculean effort to keep it all balanced. Finally, we get a report that says Blanka definitely won't be in, and then several days later he is stated to be in the Vita version and likely DLC for consoles? Sounds fishy to me. |

I remember Seth giving an interview months ago saying the final roster might rival MvC2.
As for the imbalance a big roster would cause, that could be what the gems are really for. To have players balance the game themselves to a degree. |

I take it we'll have Endless Lobbies on par with SSF4 when this drops. No excuses. Maybe a team tourny, why not. No excuses.

I'm up for it, once I get a grip on things.
Edit: Some guy called Desk has the game already. So, with it being out now, probably through dodgey means, anyone know if the endings are animated, CGI or just still images with text? Hoping it's animated, be it anime or CGI. |

It would help if they'd just come out and say it. Rather than say "exclusive", say "temporarily exclusive" or something.
I know that defeats the purpose of having exclusives because then people just wait, rather than buy a Vita and the Vita version of SFxT, but it would save on a lot of crying, confusion and repeating questions. I wonder how much money Sony spat out to have Capcom give them a total of 17 extra characters, 3 of which will definitely be 100% exclusive. |

Never played a Tekken game after 3 so Eddy was who I'd have put in against Elena.
Guess Christie is more popular? Or maybe just so we have a girl vs girl match up. |

Nina has been my main in Tekken since I started playing the series when Tekken 2 hit arcades, and that doesn't seem like it's going to change in this game. She seems like a blast to play, especially with her chain grabs being normal moves instead of just thrown into a super or cross art like I thought they would be. Though I do wish she had a second chain string to do. I think her jumping leg scissors, where she finishes with a string of moves on the ground would have translated well in this game.
Heihachi looks beastly. Was planning on making Heihachi one of my guys, and this just makes me more excited to try him. I kind of think Steve Fox is going to be the Makoto of this game. Just seems like all his moves and combos are going to take a lot of practice to be used effectively. Fuck, I'm still struggling with Makoto in SSF4, so I dunno if I will want to take up another character like that. |

I think Capcom missed a chance to put in remakes of classic stages from SF and Tekken. A redone version of Balrogs Las Vegas stage from SFII would have looked great, for example.

Wouldn't say missed a chance so much as didn't wanna do it. Some Tekken stages would have been interesting.
