Some very good matches, and I wasn't expecting any title changes on what's essentially a glorified house show anyway. Having said that, the build up to Wrestlemania is suddenly a lot shorter and this did nothing but get some storylines back to square one from what I can see.

How about some actually interesting storylines? They teamed him up with the Ascension which could have lead to some amazing stories. Have the three of them rule of the mid-card for a while and then use it to put some big new babyface over. The Cosmic Wasteland vs the Wyatt Family could have been a great feud too if built right. Stardust should be one of the biggest contenders in the midcard. Instead he's reduced to jobber status.

Not really. WWE just need to learn how to write decent storylines for their characters. They could also use a refresher on how to write more than one story at a time too. Oh, and someone should probably remind them that there can be more than one division that gets attention during 5+ hours of television time a week. Not everyone needs to be a world champion or in the world title scene to be interesting, and the other titles don't have to seem like worthless pieces of garbage just to make the world title seem a little more important.

You can only really do so much with Dolph Ziggler and Cody Rhodes before the audience needs a break. There are a few who ate so stale.

They've definitely made some improvements to Shotgun Saturday Night since 1999.

Thought the main event was stellar. Do wish Ambrose had won for the sheer fact that it would've really swerved the whole card.

Problem is they haven't done anything with them to begin with. Sending them away for a while without changing the current way things are done will only result in whoever takes their places floundering out the exact same way.

Hahaha no-one fucks with the authority. Learn to respect authority assholes and your life in wwe would be a lot easier. I mean look at Seth Rollins for example

I 100% agree that effort needs to be put into the mid card storylines. If they could it in the friggin 80s, they can do it now. |

Reigning Tipsters Champ!

Main event was great. HHH is still so good and will actually feel a bit sad about him losing clean at Mania. Would rather Ambrose did it in a triple threat with Reigns losing the plot.
Lesnar suplexing Harper didn't really do anything for Mania. More interested in Bray/Lesnar now. Ambrose needs a big win, but I don't think he should beat Lesnar....difficult spot now. I don't watch NXT, but really enjoyed the tag match and thought both teams looked really solid. The big man is so agile for his size, I could see Vince taking a liking to him. Enzo looks ridiculous. The champs remind me of those old school, quality wrestler teams like Furnas/Lafon. Don't like Sami Zayn and don't understand yet why people love him. His music is goofy (like a Less than Jake song), his look doesn't inspire and they already have quite a few strong workers on the roster. Didn't get into that match and crowd were quieter at the pinfall than they were at his entrance. Natalya is really good and loved seeing her getting a pop that size. She should definitely be in the mix post Mania. All in all, nice show, but enough wasn't done to build the matches at Mania. No match received elevated importance or was progressed in any way. Mania is always a good time, but I don't remember ever feeling this underwhelmed about a card before. Don't want Reigns to win, don't want Ambrose or Lesnar to lose, and don't care about Shane/Taker. |

I don't think Zayn has been the same since returning. On Breaking Ground they showed how he was so unsure and self conscious about his shoulder when he was just getting back into the ring. I feel that he is still not going 100% at this point. And also he looks fat.

I can't get over Dean's ring attire. Jeans and a tank. It's so generic and looks so bad in the main event to me. I wish he'd figure something more legit.

Was I imagining a "This is awkward!" chant during the Zayn/stardust match? If true, I agree.

Honestly I'd like to see Ambrose get some long tights. Always liked that look. Maybe make them look a bit like leather so they kinda match the jacket he always wears to the ring.

Got around to watching a replay and at the New Day stuff to start off the show.
Probably not a wise move by the crowd to chant "asshole" after Jericho called the city the anus of Canada. at having Swagger being the choice for Jericho's payback after that promo. Divas title match was a lot better than the one at Fastlane. Harper-Lesnar was good for what it was but Bray ended up being the biggest loser from that match. Another incident of him talking a lot but then nothing meaningful to back it up. WWE title match was great. Could probably have done without the false finish spot since its been way overused with Ambrose. Show itself was good but agree with others saying it barely did anything for Mania's build. |

Charlotte and Nattie was cool because the commentators actually tried to sell it and tell a story referencing stuff that happened in NXT....
Makes me want to see a feud between the two after Wrestlemania, making Nattie relevant again.... |

Natty was looking great on Saturday. Looks like she trimmed up big time. Shame they've never given her much to do. Her match with Charlotte was stellar.

After looking at results and watching part of the main event, even though I'm still not sold on Ambrose as a world champion, I feel like HHH vs Ambrose and Reigns vs Lesnar would be about a million times more intriguing for WrestleMania.
HHH vs Ambrose has the drama of Ambrose being the "all heart" underdog who can't win the big one. Reigns vs Lesnar writes itself at this point. Main event from last year and neither man won the match. They have unfinished business. We've been waiting over a year to see who the better man is. With Rollins out of the picture, now we get to find out ON THE GRANDEST STAGE OF THEM ALLLLZ. Two perfectly well built stories. Much better than either of the ones we have now between these four. |

Speaking of Ambrose and "all heart"...
Noid mentioned in the Royal Rumble thread how weird it felt that Triple H almost seemed to be playing the babyface. Right down to the fact that Cole was hyping him up as one. I felt the same way with the last few minutes or so of this match. Triple H gutting it out and escaping Ambrose's submissions while Cole wondered how much he had left and complimented how much heart he was showing. What the fuck? Are we supposed to hate this guy or not? |
