Yeah, gotta agree with RBM here.
My take was that the first 8 eps were written (and subsequently filmed) before the Writers' Strike and that due to the Writers' Strike no more eps could be written. Now that the strike is over, the writers' can return to work. I've not heard of other writers being brought in and I'd assume that most would not 'cross the picket line' to write on a show anyhow. Episode 9 airs on 24th April (US) and 27th (UK). |

It's nothing to complain about though. This season has been as solid as season 1. Now that they have a defined end date, they can fit in all the story they want to tell in the fixed number of episodes and make everything quite strong.
As far as complaining about their being 'too much' sci fi element... that all comes down to taste, I guess. I personally enjoy it and most of it is subtle enough not to really detract from the overall themes and stories that they're trying to convey. *shrug* |

One of the 6th is Claire's baby. The preview for the next episode went through how the 6 have all been revealed now, and it showed the baby as one of them.

Last night's episode had me laughing so hard. We go through Mike's story after he gets off the island, and it takes Sayid no more than 10 seconds to make up his mind and turn him in.

Rousseau's possible death had me laughing so hard. She's all like super serious and badass... "when I count to three, we run..... one.... two..... *dramatic pause* THREE" And then she takes like one step and gets shot. Pretty hilarious.

it really seems like they just took the lazy way out in trying to finish this story line with the immediate turn in of michael and the immediate death of roussoeau. Im figuring though that Ben had something to do with the snipers since he had that look on his face that he was going to fuck someone over when he saw his daughter with the guy he didnt like... i figured the boy was gonna die just from that.

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if the captain on the boat already knows the deal with Michael, looked like he was entirely unsurprised with that Sayid was telling him, and Michael seemed more scared of the ex-torturer than el capitan. And its not like they don't give us these kinda cliff hangers all the time, the ones which are manufactured purely because they're needed but actually amount to very little when it comes to the following episode(s).

So why didn't Desmond interject when Michael was telling his story about how he got on the boat? I mean from what we saw, he would've mentioned Charles Widmore's name, and then his story could be validated.

Again it seems to me like something like that would be left out in order to preserve the cliff hanger, its bound to come up

Oh I know thats the reason, its just a blatant let down. I mean the second Desmond hears that name, he shoulda been all over it. He hasn't even told people about his time travelling, when that part of LOST is basically going to be the one that is the backbone to the entire story arc.
Starting to think more and more that the 'Adam and Eve' skeletons in the caves are indeed that of Desmond and Penny. |

Dude, that's one interesting call on the skeletons, it'd be really fucked up but in a kind of strangely interesting way. I love it when they tie stuff back to small things in the first two seasons, it makes it all flow beautifully and really shows how much thought has gone into the show. I got a bit bored with Season 2, but so far Season 4 has been just as gripping as Season 1 IMO.
I think Desmond might be my favourite character at the moment, his time travel episodes have been incredible. |

Yeah I dunno where I read it, but someone said that when Desmond wakes up at some point in FLASHES BEFORE YOUR EYES in season 3, he is holding some pebbles in his hands? I never saw or remember it, but I remembered the skeletons in season 1 were.
And since FLASHES, with the involvement of that old woman, I have just had these ideas that she is a guide, she was telling Des about time, course correction etc, and she was there, which means there is someone or a force existing out of time thats about to guide/help/communicate with him. Its blatantly the island/Jacob or something like that. But ultimately, I think Desmond and his time traveling story arc is going to be the 'make or break' story strand within lost that either saves or destroys everything. I think what we seen happening on LOST, in fact all of what we see UNTIL they make it BACK to the Island at the end of Season 5, is some kind of time loop, and there will come a point where Desmond and Penny sacrifice themselves or something will happen where they end up being the skeletons. |

I dont have cable, I download them after they show up on Mininova.
My ex and I watched it together last summer, we got midway through season 2, then broke up, I wanted to start watching again, once Season 4 came out, but did not want to start off at Season 2.5, as I could not remember everything leading up to it, so I started from teh pilot again. |

sweet ep. I love the action episodes a lot more. I'm glad the main merc guy didn't get killed by the monster because I want to see his ass get it. He's the new "Tom" now. I fucking marked out when Sawyer killed Tom last season.
I couldn't believe they actually killed off Alex. That's what I love about Lost. They set the scene up like all TV shows and you think that "oh, Ben is going to say something at the last second and Alex will be saved." But what does Lost do? It says fuck the standard shit, she's taking a bullet to the head. |

Just watched the episode on abc.com
Holy shit. Ben and Sayid are practically the Boondock Saints post-island which is badass. And I can pretty much care less about the castaways until something big goes down. I want bits and pieces of Ben's life everyweek, absolutely loving the guy. |
