The quality of "real" journalism has plummeted since social media took off, it's all about getting hits, screw the integrity. Ya think an industry as ropey as wrestling should have more integrity?

My issue is with the quality. I think we should expect more. People like you have no standards I guess.

There's no way you can read the "report" I posted in this thread and say it's good journalism.

Imagine if an NFL insider said "the Super Bowl" has been worked out. It will feature two football teams".

That doesnt work. Its more like the season finale of Walking Dead has been worked out and someone will die. You cant compare journalism from a real sport to somthing that is a tv show. Your standards for wrestling journalism seem to be a little high.

CyNick is a guy that thinks he knows way more than he actually does.

It's doubtful he's ever actually worked in news, media or entertainment for any significantly sized company. He's likely never negotiated a television rights deal or negotiated any kind of agreement re: the rights for the public performance or broadcast of intellectual property. He's most likely never negotiated any kind of business deal larger than selling his own house or car.

He's almost positively never sat in on a board meeting or business affairs meeting for a major international company while they discussed their plans, goals, strategies and annual and quarterly results as it relates to ratings, subscriber counts, sales, profits, loss, debt, credit, revenues, assets, liabilities, etc., let alone been a part of negotiations with them or on the company's behalf.

As much as Cynick would like to think (and like US to think) that we just don't understand and that he has some greater overall understanding of the WWE's, the media, television or the entertainment industries inner business workings, ratings, finances, goals, strategies, etc. He simply doesn't.

He's simply a tool.

Actually, the idea that Fastlane will feature a big match and not just be a filler PPV is actually informative, as is wanting it to be an "A-level PPV." It could be false or change (as things do in a week-to-week industry -- imagine trying to predict who Jimmy Fallon's guests will be in three months time), but the idea of Fastlane being a big show isn't "nothing."

Rumble itself was for the title. We knew that going in. The "big scoop" from the bloggers was Rumble finish has been finalized and it will lead to something at Fastlane.

No such thing happened.

Authority won the title which is something they wanted done ever since Reigns became a thorn to them. Storyline after the Rumble became what to do with the #1 contender spot which is what Fastlane is set to answer.

Fastlane now gets the Rumble's traditional #1 contender's match instead of the usual meaningless throw-away match because of its traditional bad position between Rumble and Mania.
