Ryan Dempster is 0-3 this year. Bad right? That's 8 starts. 2.14 ERA and the best stat of all... He's only gotte 12 runs of support this year...

Mets shut out the Padres for 26 consecutive innings. Dickey should be an All Star this year.

The F is the problem with the Red Sox of every game they have a chance to finally go over .500, they find a new way to lose.

Wish I could have watched that. |

Also, don't know if any of you guys keep an eye on college baseball. But here's a clip if Vanderbilt pulling off a triple steal against Florida yesterday. Credit to the boys at river ave. blues for providing this.

Dickey has 21 K's and 1 walk in his last 2 starts. That's fucking insane, especially for a knuckleballer.

Twitter blew up today because Rizzo left his triple a game early and everyone thought he was called up to the bigs. But in typical Cub fashion, it turned out the news wasnt good. He left with a sore wrist.
I've been a Cub fan for 15 years now. I've never seen our fans clamoring for a prospect like this. Hell, I'm getting wood just thinking about it and I'm not talking about Kerry either. Dude is hitting like crazy. .354 with 17 Home Runs. He's more than ready. He's the only thing Cubs fans have to look forward too. FREE RIZZO! |

I was like half awake when I saw the replay of that and I was deeply confused
also he hit it off Jamie Moyer so it barely counts |

Yeah Moyer's numbers are in the tank now. Would be surprised if he actually sticks around in the rotation for the rest of the year.
Probably kills the dream of him pitching in the bigs at 50 next year. |

He'd already probably be gone if Jorge De La Rosa's rehab were going better, either way I'm pretty bummed that my time to see his hot wife is running out.

Cool. Yet ANOTHER injury for the Mets. Justin Turner probably done for a very long time. I base this on nothing other than the fact that A) it's the Mets and B) it looked like an ankle injury.

Well considering Chipper is on the DL, McCann has had the flu for a week, and Freeman is having really bad eye problems, what do you expect? That's the middle of the lineup gone.

Also, who's genius idea was it to have the angels/yankees game today be the last game being played? Wern't all the games afternoon games during the holidays?

Manny Acosta is remarkably bad. He was actually pretty good last year but it's fast being exposed as a fluke. I can only hope he gets dumped in favor of Pedro Beato or Jenrry Mejia before he makes it into another game.

Cardinals starter Lance Lynn has been really good. With Chris Carpenter out, he's been a really nice surprise for them.

Aceves with back to back shaky performances but at least he didn't blow a lead like yesterday.
Doubront pitched another good game today and the only one who's been consistent out of the starters this season. Today was also Trot Nixon appreciation day at Fenway. |

Some baseball news.
Juan Carlos Oviedo AKA Leo Nunez has been suspended by MLB for 8 weeks for age and identity fraud. He's all sorted out in the Dominican Republic and the U.S. has granted him a visa. Padres sale update: Pro golfer Phil Mickelson has joined Peter O'Malley's group in purchasing John Moores' stake in the team. Also, Padres legend Tony Gwynn is interested in buying the team. He's in a group led by movie producer Thomas Tull. About 5 groups altogether are involving in buying the team. |

WOOOOOO Manny Acosta DFA'ed. They recalled Chris Schwinden though, who is also shit. I think/hope he's strictly a placeholder for when Beato or Mejia are ready.
Also they had to DL Justin Turner and call up Omar Quintanilla and his career .213 batting average. If they can manage to stay above .500 with this brutal stretch of games coming up they'll make a believer out of me. |
