Kinda goes against everything I stand for, but I'm hoping Boston completes this 4 game sweep of the Tigers tonight so they can fly back and the Yankees can keep them in a bit of a tailspin.

Needless to say, Carlos Gonzalez is hot. Another game, another Home Run.

Giants are actually sitting pretty right now. I doubt the Dodgers can keep up this level of ball all year.

I think the NL West is wide-open. The Dodgers just lost Matt Kemp again, and I doubt Jerry Hairston Jr will hit over .360 the rest of the year. So we'll see.
Tim Lincecum's gotta get it together, though. |

Youk Watch begins. Red Sox have come out and said they intend to trade Kevin Youkilis.
White Sox and Rangers have checked in. Dodgers have some interest, but don't wanna pay his salary and/or surrender a top farm guy for him. Reds are happy with Todd Frazier at 3rd. |

Makes sense since Middlesbrook is producing some good numbers and Youks rant earlier in the season probably hurt him more than he thought. Also a huge sign management wants Middlesbrook to stay on the roster and not be sent back to the minors as a few expected once Youks returned.
The way things were leaning it was either going to be him or Beckett with last year's fallout playing a small role. |

They can't just move Youkilis to LF? I mean, if Adrian Gonzalez can play RF, Youkilis can play some Left.

Nava has that spot and he's been playing pretty well. There would be no real benefit in terms of fielding stats or batting to replace Nava with Youks since Nava is a better fielder and their batting stats are almost the same.
Youks real value is at 1B since he's Gold-Glove quality there and above average at 3B although tends to commit a bunch more errors at 3B. Gonzalez was moved mostly to keep his bat in the lineup and to ensure Ortiz had a bat during Interleague and critical games. |

Baltimore vs. Tampa Bay this weekend with 1st place in the east on the line.
Who's coming back down to earth? I'm thinking the O's. |

Crawford isn't a centerfielder.
I love Youk, but I think it's time for him to move on for him and the team. He needs to get away from Bobby V. |

Bobby V is just what that team needed, a guy who'd come in and ruffle their feathers a little bit. They were too "diva-like". If that means trading Youkilis, so be it. Middlebrooks is doing just fine.
I'm pulling for Bobby, I like him. |

Bobby V is a douche. He tries too hard to be controversial. Like when he started shit talking the Yankees for no reason in the offseason about shit that happened ten years ago.

I was happy Detroit won. You wanna know why? The Yankees have a little bit of a problem playing teams who are doing really bad or really good. You wanna know what probably would have happened if Detroit went to play the Yankees with a 4 game losing streak? A bad feeling tells me the Tigers would have either taken 2 of 3 or just down right swept them.

Thought the Rays/Oriels game was going to be competitive but the Rays put up 5 in the first.
Price has a perfect game going though. (Through 4) |

If he gets it, it'll be the Mets first no-hitter ever. And he'll do it against the World Champions.

There are no words. I didn't move from the spot in my bed in the 9th inning. My mom came in to talk to me and I remained frozen in silence. Then when he got it I absolutely exploded.
Johan Santana is a Mets legend now. |

The Cardinals have a pretty good offense, so no-hitting them is no easy task.
Finally the Mets get back at the Cardinals for the 2006 NLCS (somewhat). Or maybe not. Still, it's so awesome for Johan, after battling back from surgery. |
