Seriously though, the fuck is Collins doing pulling Pelfrey? He was cruising. The announcers speculated that he was trying to give Francisco a confidence booster save since he hasn't had one in 2 weeks. Ugh.

Yep, Steady Freddy looking like the most likely candidate to get bounced to the bullpen when Pineda gets back.

the ump ending up distracting Ryan which gave enough time for a throw to be done at 1st to ensure the perfect game.
:foc: Padilla. Doubront pitches great today and the first relief pitcher gives up a slammy to the Yanks. |

Ryan didn't even swing. But no ump would have the balls to end the PG that way after Joyce.

the whole bullpen is full of incompetent pitchers.
Wasted a great outing by Doubront and the offense. Crowd is booing Booby V badly but Francona would be stuck with the same crap if he was still there as manager. Don't care if Bard throws another fit but he needs to be thrown back into the bullpen. |

I always loved Bobby V as Mets manager...but yeah, even I think he's gotta go. Inexcusable performance today. But his job status is going to be a distraction all year now.

Os sent Josh Bell to the diamondbacks for the ol PTBNL
Gotta know you suck real hard when you play 3B and the Os dont want you considering they're fed up with Reynolds at 3B. |

Pete Abraham tweeted earlier that Bobby V had 3 security guards and a cop waiting for him at the dugout when he came back from his last trip to the mound.
I wonder if he brought the fake mustache and glasses with him. He gotta go out in a disguise today. |

Wonder what the odds of two perfect games in one day are..
Weaver looks like he could do it vs the Orioles, its ridiculous. The ump is calling strikes a foot off the plate. |

Cherington hits the panic button after the game yesterday.
Red Sox aquire Marlon Byrd from the Cubs for Michael Bowden and a PTBNL. "Help me Theo, I don't know what to do!" |

how is that the panic button? Like every outfielder they have is injured (Ellsbury, Crawford, Repko, Kalish), they DFAed Bowden recently anyways, and the Cubs are picking up most of the tab. Why NOT do that deal?

So the list of players that threw no-nos for other clubs after they left the Mets organization is now at:
-Nolan Ryan (7 of them, hence why it's the Curse of Nolan Ryan) -Tom Seaver (after a million close calls with the Mets) -Dwight Gooden (damn Yankees) -David Cone (damn Yankees) -Mike Scott (ball scuffer extraordinaire) -Hideo Nomo (threw one before his Mets tenure AND one after) -AJ Burnett (worst no-no ever but still) -Philip Humber (only pitched in like 6 games as a Met) Looking at the first 4 names on the list is pretty much all you need to know. So much great pitching has rolled through Queens and nobody's been able to seal the deal. And when you look at some of the close calls, it's such a tease. They've had numerous one-hitters in which the only hit was a pitcher (Steve Trachsel and R.A. Dickey off the top of my head, think there may have been more). Jon Niese a couple of years ago had a near perfect game, retiring 27 of 28 batters faced. John Maine took one into the 8th inning one time and ended up losing it on a slow grounder up the third base line that somehow didn't go foul. 35 one-hitters in team history. It's never going to happen. Pretty much just left hoping the Padres never get one, as they're the only other team that hasn't. |

Just makes no sense rushing into a trade this early into a season. A trade with the Cubs no less since it took most of the offseason to work out the comp for Theo. |

Rewatching Cal Ripken's 2131 game from 1995 on MASN. Ridiculous..the Os had Mike Smith in right field..Jeff Huson at 3rd..Manny Alexander at 2B..lol..Im pretty sure no one would ever remember them 17 years later for any other reason..
Angels had some names you remember: Jim Edmonds, Tim Salmon, Chili Davis, JT Snow, Garrett Anderson.. |

saw this from todays game, illustrating just how god awful the strike zone was today.. Haren gets 12 balls called strikes to Chen's 3, Chen gets 9 strikes called balls to Harens 1. something needs to happen, Im getting tired of the terrible strike zones. |

Ordered my tickets off stubhub for the Os/Red Sox game on Wednesday June 6th.
Got Right Field Box Section 90 Row EE seat 3 for $31.99 + $9 in service fees. Tickets in that section are $52 face value. According to this site they aren't obstructed and are in fair territory for HRs (404 ft to home plate). |

Im not going to complain about being able to get a fenway ticket for $10 less than face value fees included. I thought for sure it would cost way more or Id have to settle for sitting behind a pole like this woman:

Dontrelle Willis walked out on the O's AAA team without permission after a disagreement about being placed in a relief role.
Id say he's pretty much done. |

Yankees/Rangers game went by quick today. Good win.
Off topic, don't like this Meredith Marakovits chick YES hired to replace Kim Jones. Couldn't we send a truckload of money to Maria Menunos or some really hot chick who's a die-hard yankees fan? |
