when was the last true work?
I ask because I can't recall so I bring it to you true geniuses.

in the PG era (and by PG I mean really bad writing& creative not the lack of bad words) has there ever been a legit work that threw the majority of people for a loop?

with everyone hollering that DB not in the main event is a work, that CM Punk taking his ball and going home is a work I'm asking if those people just have absolute blinders on to reality or if they honestly feel based on recent history that the top brass is capable of pulling off a work?

I don't think they've EVER done something truly that elaborate and there's NO reason to think they've all of a sudden had the creative genius to pull it off, let alone they're going to be able to execute it effectively.

It doesn't mean it's not possible, just not very likely, especially given their history in the last 10 years.

I would be so thrilled with it being a work, I'd be like "WOW THEY GET IT" and blown away, but I have no reason at all to believe it actually is. Because I would love to get worked... I would love to be worked as a mark, it's the whole point of wrestling.

Those calling work are people who like to feel as though they're on the "in" and are the smartest people in the room. There is no reason to believe that the Bryan/Punk and whatever else kind of stuff is a work, considering these are the same people that booked the Bryan/Orton feud only a few months ago.

I think the answer to this is Mark Henry's fake retirement. That was rumored to be legit, and then he suddenly appeared to announce it... and then he flattened Cena.

Also pretty much every time Cena is injured they're like "OMGZ HE WIL BE OUT FOR A HOLE YEAR" then he shows up a month later.

I definitely lean more toward the idea that they're in "damage control" now. I don't think they ever intended to have Daniel Bryan have a serious title run but they teased it so much that the crowds will take nothing less and now they're in a huge, fucked up situation where they need to give him the title before or at Mania or have something as big as a Cena heel turn to distract the crowd.
