Your current Top 3 going into Mania...

With the Rumble behind us and the road to Wrestlemania well underway, I was wondering what different people are looking at or into at this stage. Obviously there have been a lot of injuries and changes of plan due to that, but if you had to choose your top 3 of the current bunch, who are they and why? Who is getting your attention going into Mania and what is it about them that you like?

For me...

1. Brock Lesnar -

I know he is part time and I know he is on a different level, but I can't help but list him for exactly that reason. He just seems on a different level to everyone else and has this awesome presence. Everytime he comes out, he is just impressive and his aura is greater than anyone else on the roster. His offense looks brutal, his matches have serious undertones and he is so easy to invest in as a performer. Top pick for me.

2. Kevin Owens -

I admit, I looked at Kevin Steen before he came in and thought, I can't see this working, but I obviously did not see the right things and judged him wrongly. He is awesome in the ring, has a great presence, is good on the mic and has fantastic facial expressions and reactions to what is going on around him. He is their best heel by far IMO and I would love to see a Kevin Owens title win in 2016.

3. Big E -

Is it just me, or is this guy the total package? He has unbelievable charisma, a great personality, is so agile and is a beast in the ring when the time calls for it. As much as I like New Day as a group, I would love to see Kofi and Xavier take on the tag titles and back-up Big E in a US title feud with Kalisto going into Mania. It could elevate them both, keep the feud entertaining and give the Usos and natural ally to battle the group with. Going out in a limb, but for me, he is world title material and I hope he gets there someday.

What about the rest of you, who is your current top 3 and why?

Dean Ambrose, feel like if he would have been in Romans shoes since the WWE WHC tounament it would have been alot better. Like him as IC champ for now if thats what they want to do with him before they put him in the main event picgure and he explodes. Could work with any number of guys at Mania and put on a good show.

Kevin Owens, the guy just gets it. Entertained every time hes in the ring and feel like a blood feud with Sami Zayn culminating with a match at WM would be great. Could put a stipulation on it to where if Owens wins Sami has to stay in NXT for another year or somthing like that.

AJ Styles, obviously the new guy gets alot of people interested. The guy has been #1 everywhere he has been and its not by fault. Im not saying he will be #1 in WWE but he has that potential given the opportunity. Really exited to see him get going and have some great matches in WWE. Matches with the likes of Owens, Rollins, Ambrose, Del Rio, John Cena, and Orton could be really great.

Honorable Mentions: New Day and the Wyatt Family and Social Outcast

1) AJ Styles - I mean the dude is such a wildcard. Where he's going and what he's going to do is completely unknowable at this time. It's like one of the few unpredictable things WWE has going for them.

2) Brock Lesnar - The title scene is in an odd place right now. I was sure Lesnar was going to fight Bray after what happened at the Rumble, but it looks like that's off the table. If not Bray there's actually a chance Brock might win the triple threat and go on to 'Mania. Small as that chance may be. And if he doesn't go to 'Mania to fight for the title then what is he going to do? There aren't many matches for him left so whatever it is will likely have to be something crazy that WWE pulls out of their ass (or it could just end up being a boring retread or some other crap knowing WWE...)

3) Dean Ambrose - The dude is golden, and surprisingly enough he's actually doing something on TV. Where that goes is currently up in the air, and while I'm never optimistic when it comes to WWE and their booking at least there's a chance now that something big is gonna happen for Dean heading into 'Mania.

That said I'm not super hyped at all for anything, but at least now my interest is slightly peaked. Before 'Mania was looking like shit, but now there's at least a small chance something great could happen.

I'm not feeling Lesnar anymore. Feels like his gimmick has run its course. He lost the appeal he had when he was champion. I would consider just giving him a gimmick like Taker where he just shows up at Mania and beats someone.

Reigns is the obvious #1 to me. Curious to see how WWE tells the story of him getting back the title. Also curious to see if they book for the trollish crowd at Mania.

Second is Bray. I feel like he has to turn babyface at some point soon. Thinking Mania is where they pull the trigger on that.

This is New Day. I feel like they can be a main event act, but are still relying on comedy which will keep them as a mid card act. Would love to see Kofi get pushed as a world title contender.

Brock- Everything he does draws me in like a 12 year old mark. He just seems to matter, and it feels special to have him around, regardless if I don't like the direction he is headed in for Mania.

Jericho- For the first time in a few years, I am actually excited to see Jericho both in and out of the ring. Don't know why, but I just do.

New Day- These guys seem to always be left out of peoples WrestleMania projections or thrown in at the end to make sure the titles get on the card. They've done to WWE tag wrestling what E+C, the Dudleys, and the Hardys did 15 years ago, and I absolutely love their gimmick, and I feel that some of their great in ring work is actually overshadowed by their mic work. They are bigger than the tag titles and have elevated the entire division just by being on top and having such a great, sustained run.

1. Bray. The most complete entity the wwe has that if wasn't going to be rewarded with the royal rumble win needs to beat lesnar at mania. If you are going to give a guy three top stars to dance with at mania in a row he needs a win.

2. Brock- love the legitimacy of brick and his matches don't feel cartoonish. Would love to see him put someone over.

3. Owens- since the minute that dude dropped sami on the apron ive been invested in this character. Loved his matches where he carried cena, and loved his fuck you to styles after he tossed him out of the rumble. Don't care who he matches up against just want more of him.

All the other guys on the card I could give a shit less about. Seeing hhh main event a wm in 2016 is the last thing I want to see. Aj styles does nothing for me. They could have cena taker and I wouldn't care. Wyatt and lesnar match hopefully years the house down

Honestly, the only guy I legitimately get excited for and the only "big match feels" I get anymore are with BROCK LESNAR.

Kevin Owens & Bray Wyatt are my other 2 to round out the topic. Owens is a beast in the ring and I think has the psychology down better than anyone else. I love his facials and his trash talking. He is the guy that messes up and instead of ignoring it, stops and rants and raves about it. I love that.

Bray. Oh how I love thee, let me count the ways. But seriously, this cat needs to win a feud. He was my #1 guy for a few months there but his shitty feud and matches with the Kane and the Dudleys have all but left me bored. He really deserves a high level feud more than any guy. He has put in his time and has done everything he can possibly do to get over. Time for WWE to reciprocate. RUN.

New Day - Might be cheating a bit by including them as a group but been really entertained by all the guys in the group. They've been the consistently best thing about the tag division since Team Hell No's days.

Sasha Banks - Legit excited at the possibility of her winning the title at Mania and being the perfect person to carry the Divas division till Bayley's call up.

Kevin Owens - Him and Bray have been developing well as potential future mega heels but giving the nod to Owens just because of how well he's been booked post-Cena feud and growth as the top heel of the midcard. Even the WWE realizes they blundered with Cena feud by not having him go over. f the Rumble was any indication, he already has some pre-made feuds in the waiting against Zayn and Styles.

Honorable mention - Dean Ambrose. Similar to Owens but as the top face guy for the midcard and someone who the crowd is behind a lot even if the WWE isn't.

If I had the book I would be making plans on putting the World Heavyweight Title on Kevin Owens before year's end. There isn't a more believable heel on the roster, IMO.

If WrestleMania 33 is in Minnesota as rumored, Kevin Owens defending the belt going into that event against the hometown boy (and Royal Rumble winner) Brock Lesnar would be pretty fucking fantastic.

Oh and I guess I'd put Styles and Ambrose in the other two spots, although if Ambrose hangs on to the IC Title I really have no idea what they're going to do with him given the tendency to make the IC Title match relatively unimportant or possibly not even be on the card at all.

I see Ambrose turning heel by year's end or even once they start getting some of the babyfaces back. And I think that's where he'll be most successful.

I agree with the Ambrose being more successful as a heel thing, but I'm not sure when they'll turn him. I'd like to see him walk out of this year's WrestleMania as the World Champion. I know, not much chance of that happening, but he's the only guy in the current picture -- other than Brock Lesnar, which isn't happening due to logistical reasons -- that might be cheered.

Ambrose wins the World Title and then Roman Reigns turns heel. Reigns needs it badly. Reigns joins The Authority and takes the belt from Ambrose, who cuts sharp promos (nothing with mannequins) and eventually either wins the World Title back from Reigns or fails in his mission. Seth Rollins returns as a babyface and beats heel Triple H. This all leads towards the Shield Triple Threat at WrestleMania, or a heel turn for Dean Ambrose where he goes after the now beloved Rollins.

The above isn't what's going to happen, but it's how I'd like to see it go down. More likely is that Ambrose turns heel and is just bounced off whatever face they want to get over.

I dont know about his best work being as a heel. I know he will be great at it but I really feel he has what it takes to be the top face in the company. He's about the only face that I currently like on the main roster.

I feel like Ambrose has got a good connection to crowds, but it's really hard to get enthused about him as a "heavyweight." I just don't know what it is. Being plucky makes him sympathetic, but it also means you get conditioned to seeing him get his ass kicked. A lot of his mystique and his edge have been taken off by constant losses. I mean, with a guy like that you have to have clear vision for the long term or strap the rocket onto them. Neither has really happened with Ambrose, and it seems the IC Title is more a consolation prize than anything else.

His aesthetic doesn't seem right for the role either. I know we had Austin without any hair, or Mick Foley with his unique look -- but Ambrose just doesn't look pro-wrestler enough. It might seem like I'm nitpicking, but it's a concern that I have. I don't really judge wrestlers by their size too often, but he looked scrawny for a main event guy at the Rumble. Can he transcend that? Weirder things have happened, but it seems like the company is too self-conscious about it.

As a dangerous heel, things completely change for Ambrose. He gets his edge and his mystique back. The things we thought we knew about Ambrose go out the window. The things we loved about him now become the things we should worry about. He won't be taking beatings as much, and instead he'll be dishing them out. He'll get to be a "bad boy" again, and that's where his charm came from.

Lesnar is a true beast. He is "the man" by a long shot.

Kevin Owens has "it." He might not look great but his attitude is perfect and dude can go in the ring. If he was a bodybuilder he would be ejaculating all over VKM.

Bray Wyatt is the most fascinating character out there. Too bad his finisher sucks and he jobs all the time.

As pointed out above, Cesearo could easily be a main eventer. It seems like he is friends with Cena and I think I heard Hhh, so if he has a great reaction upon his return I think he will get that opportunity.

1. The New Day- Everything about them is over like rover. Not sure if it's time to actually turn them real face but they get face reactions all the time because New Day Rocks. Not sure there is a heel tag team right now that can compete against them unless the Usos turn heel. Still they are over as a hilarious, heel tag team.

2. AJ Styles- Huge pops for his first two appearances. Good start. Just depends on where the Road to WrestleMania leads him. Jericho? Owens? Brock?

3. Kevin Owens: Great first year for the former NXT and IC Champion. Sami Zayn back in the mix for a huge rematch at WrestleMania? I know Zayn has NXT stuff too with Nakamura but it would be a good back to back thing. Owens has done it before so Zayn could pull it off too. Not sure if I'd like to see Zayn take it easy on TakeOver because he has to face somebody at Mania. It could work out but they probably wouldn't want to do that. Styles Vs. Owens seems like the right call for Mania.
