By no means the best, and when Phil Anselmo talks I wanna strangle myself, but they cracked out some megatunes regardless.
TGSTK has gotta be one of my favourite 5 songs ever |

Pantera is not very good. Why do you like so much crappy metal, D-Mac?

Problem with post-glam Pantera is they seemed to put atleast 3 or 4 filler tracks on each album. Personally apart from stuff like Opeth or Katatonia I like my metal albums fairly short and sweet 40 mins tops. Thinking Deicide, Reign in Blood, Alters of Madness, Winds of Creation, None so Vile, Focus etc

Far beyond Driven does, at some point, begin to drag. Then again, it is 70-odd mins long. Only so much hate you can stand before it becomes samey. Their cover of Planet caravan is still tasty as hell though.

I don't listen to them a lot, but I have their greatest hits album and it does kick some ass.

Yeah word, Reign in Blood is still the greatest metal album ever produced, and basically always will be.

I linked the site because it's a really good way to find rare stuff that's not even being pressed anymore, lesser known (sometimes totally unkown for that matter) or bands of a similar nature to what you already listen to. Believe it or not, I am actually helping him, not just shitting on Pantera. :foc: |

Pantera are good, but not great. I have all their albums (including glam ones ) but if I could pick one I think their greatest hits covers all the songs I like.

I was gonna see them in the city but it sold out by the time I found out about it. Explosions In The Sky also sold out before I found out about it.

The only show that I have ever not been able to attend due to it being sold out is (oddly enough) Explosions in the Sky. I was super pissed because I didn't find out about it until about two weeks before hand. Jumped on this thing about a month ago, because there's no fucking way I'm missing them play Daydream Nation in it's entirety.

Don't think that they're doing it anywhere near New Jersey/New York. Looks like the only US dates are in Chicago and various places in California. Other than that they are over in Europe for what appears to be the rest of the year.
Oh, and to relate this all to the topic Sonic Youth is much better than Pantera. |
